Exactly where you want to stay! Cannot recommend enough. Perfect location, steps from great live music, a GREAT breakfast place literally right out front, charming rooms, good AC (a must, we found out!) and very comfortable beds, even the daybed. I was booking for a group of 7 so was concerned about getting the accommodation right and also not blowing peoples' budgets- couldn't have been more relieved to find out it lives up to all its reviews. Abby and Dayna were extremely helpful and I would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a great stay!
My family and I enjoyed our stay. Dayna and Merry were very welcoming and made all of us feel at home. Dayna even offered to dog sit our dog one night when we were going to be out late. The location of the cottage is what makes this place ideal, but the warmth of welcome we received, makes it perfect.
Let me paint the picture...10 teenagers and 3 chaperones in town for a convention.
I've read the other reviews...
Yes the cottage is very old. Yes the doors need some wiggling to properly lock...
We NEVER felt unsafe. There is a locked iron fence one must get through, very bright motion lighting, and a guard cat on duty.
It is across the street from Horn's...oh the food, so good. Blocks from Snug Harbor for jazz, Dat Dog for amazing sausages, walking distance to the French Quarter, LaLaurie Mansion, Bourbon Street, the church, Cafe du Monde, and streetcar access at French Market (and I have crappy knees and was easily able to walk everywhere from this location).
Our hosts were amazing, kind, and so helpful. The shower water pressure was good, the rooms kept cool by AC, and the kitchenette helpful in feeding late night snacks to hungry teenagers. The beds were comfy, and sleep came easily as it is actually quiet despite being in the heart of jazz central!
Were I to make a complaint...the guard cat is on the skittish side, so I couldn't get kitty cuddle time...and there was a pesky tropical storm that dumped several feet of rain on the city...and the humidity...so, come to think of it, other than no kitty cuddle time, I have no complaints about this adorable, historic cottage!!
Suggestion: walk 50 feet across the street to Horn's, have breakfast there...it will start your day in a perfect way.
*Bus stops are a a couple blocks away, streetcar access is about a 10 minute walk, and Uber drivers have a ton of info about their city.
Best location to walk to music on Frenchmen. Close enough to walk to all touristy sites.
Accomodations were quaint and comfortable. Great service from the owner's daughter who made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the outdoor sitting areas. Felt very safe here. Carolyn Joslin

My husband and I have been to New Orleans several times and have stayed in the Garden District and French Quarter. This time we wanted to be closer to Frenchmen Street to experience a bit mellower vibe then Bourbon Street. We were traveling to NOLA for the French Quarter Festival too so the location was perfect we could walk easily everywhere we wanted to go and experienced lots of great music and restaurants. One good restaurant is right across the street. "Horns".
With the three separate rooms, two with kitchens each with its own bathroom, separate entrances to each, this worked out perfectly for our group of 6. There was a courtyard in the back where we could congregate to have coffee or cocktails to hang out and relax until we went on to our next adventure in the city - and we had our privacy as well.
It is a quirky place - authentic NOLA Cottage! If you like something fancy, this place is not for you. We LOVED it. It was clean. Laundry and filtered water where a bonus. Also they supplied Coffee and there where a couple of beers left in the fridge probably from the previous guest, that was nice to have when we first arrived. I have never experienced this with any other place I have rented like this one.
Any time we needed anything, Dayna and Norine responded. We didn't need much, but it was nice that Norine was right on site at the back house. Even communicating with Dayna in NY was easy.
We will definitely rent here again. We had an amazing time.
