I always utilize the free tours when i go to New Orleans. This is a group of residents who are part of the community who perform the tour; and you pay at the end what you think its worth. They are very knowledge and fun. The lady that does the Voodoo tour whose name i cant remember makes it so much fun. Its so worth it, compared to paying so much so much to other tour agency

We did a Garden District tour with Renee and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were unlucky on the day that it was extremely cold and raining, but Renee did a good job of keeping it interesting and was very knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommend this tour.

I spent 2 days touring New Orleans and took 3 tours with Free Tours by Foot. I thoroughly enjoyed the French Quarter Tour with Andrew who was very knowledgeable and personable. He certainly allowed me to have a better understanding of the history of the city. The afternoon tour tasting tour with Kayla was less enjoyable. We were told to check in by 1:20, for the 1:30 tour and to eat a light lunch and then be prepared to have 10-$15 for tasting. She sent people to the French market if they wanted food and to return for 1:45 - which I found to be a waste of time standing around. We had one stop of dirty rice which was very good - and information about the food of the city which was good - However we spent 20 minutes in Antoine's, not tasting, and had a final stop at the pecan shop during the 2 hour tour. More tastings would have been preferred. The final tour with Renee of the Garden District was excellent - she was well informed and kept the large group in hand. I guess to sum up, I would only recommend the tour of the French Quarter and the Garden District.

Our guides were very educated, even though one (Madeline) was brand new. She kept it interesting and offered her expertise/education background to add to the tour. Would Definitely recommend them!

We did two tours from Free Tours by Foot while in New Orleans and we could not have been happier. Our guide for the morning french quarter tour was extremely knowledgeable and made it fun for everyone. Kyle was our ghost tour guide later that night. Kyle also knew his stuff and was hilarious. He had the entire group laughing all night. The communication for both was great. Knew where to meet and who to look for. Highly recommend! It may not cost anything upfront but when you have a great experience you're willing to pay more for it. I think that's why this system works. The guides seem to really love what they do. Will definitely be using them again.

We recently took the French Quarter walking tour. The only downside was that there were 28 people on our trip! We read it would be smaller, but people who hadn't registered were allowed to be added to the group and it grew to an uncomfortable number of attendees. Having said that, the guide was knowledgeable and shared a lot of the history with us. She answered any questions that people asked. We enjoyed it but couldn't help wondering why so many people without reservations were allowed to join the group.

Kyle is super knowledgeable, and not the overly dramatic type, but tells the history in an interesting and engaging way. Lots of additional facts about everything, which was much appreciated - like the physical ailments of yellow fever! Ewwww! And so great! Thanks so much Kyle, we had a great night!

Our walking tour guide was ALEC.

He didn't skip a beat... he told every story with confidence and answered all questions!
Alec was funny and very friendly too. No BS tour!

After the tour he helped out visitors with directions and some local knowledge for places to go or eat.

If I went back again for another tour I would make sure Alec was the guide 100%

We were in New Orleans for 3 days and managed to get two tours in- the French Quarter tour with Renee, and the Louis Armstrong cemetery tour with Kyle. Both were amazing, and we can't recommend them both enough as guides!

Renee and Kyle were both incredibly knowledgeable about the area and kept the tours fun and interesting. They were also more than happy to give ideas and suggestions for other places to see and visit in New Orleans and definitely helped to shape the rest of our trip :)

Will definitely be signing up for more tours with these guys on our next trip to NOLA- we so want to try the Voodoo and Food tours!
