We dined at Evangeline's on a Sunday night and had reservations for 15. Two more joined us and were accommodated easily. The service and food was excellent. I know from other experiences large parties can be difficult to serve in a timely manner but the staff had no such problems here. I would highly recommend this place for some great cajun fare when in the French Quarter.

Came here for dinner. It's a nice, small place with great staff. We had the crab cakes, sweet potato fries, fried pickles, bacon wrapped shrimp, and gator bites. Both the fried pickles and the actual shrimps were extremely salty. They were nice and let us switch out the shrimp for some gator bites which were good. Everything else was great, especially the dessert bread pudding beignets. Still thinking about those beignets and the sauce they were in. yummmmmm

We got the bananas foster, bread pudding beignets, and the chantilly cake (not regularly on menu). All 3 were delightful! The bananas foster has a natural banana taste, not overwhelming, with a lovely light pastry and is served a la mode. The bread pudding beignets are like cubes of french toast, only better because of the cream sauce. The chantilly cake was loaded with blue-, black-, and strawberries in a very moist yellow (almond?) cake and the lightest of cream frosting. This place is a gem hidden away from Bourbon Street!

Cool vibe, great food! Recommend the crab cakes and any of the gator dishes (like the fried gator and waffles or gator sausage). The Cajun potatoes were spiced and crisped just right. They serve Community Coffee (Evangeline Blend naturally), which is our favorite!
