“New Orleans experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

I feel like this is something fun and interesting to see even if you don't believe in any of it. The voodoo dolls are overpriced but there is a lot to look at. You must get a reading by Madam Irene, she's been doing it for 70 years and was spot on!

“Cool Stuff!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2013

This place seemed to have everything related to voodoo that a person could want or need. I don't know that much about it, but there were little signs and explanations on almost everything. The 2 people that worked the night we went were pretty unfriendly, but not out and out rude. Maybe they need a jar of juju or whatever to give them good vibes at the counter. They could have been really selling to us silly tourists that just want a lucky charm or other souvenir. It was clear neither owned a part of the business. :D

“The Biggest Voodoo etc Shop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

There are plenty of Voodoo shops and priestesses and priests in NOLA but they are not all open all the time. This large shop is, on Bourbon St. It's been around a long time and has everything you need, though may not have the best prices. I've found things here I didn't see elsewhere, like a cool magnet for my fridge. On the other hand, the standard Voodoo dolls are more expensive and you'd do better at the French Market, especially if you're buying a few and can cut a deal. Still, this is one-stop shopping but there are no Voodoo artifacts here that you can find elsewhere. Worth a visit, but hunt out something a little more real.

I was amazed at the knowledge the shop clerks had & the stories they could tell about things that have taken place in NOLA... It takes your breath away from the incense when you first walk in but after a minute or two you regain life & it's all good... Lot's of books you can buy & study for any type of ideas you have in mind... Voodoo dolls & candles you name it they got it except for anything that revolves around negative energy... They will help you with any good or for the better of good but nothing evil or satanic... They like to keep good spirits flowing in the building... It;s worth checking out but no loss if you can't make it but I enjoyed it...

“just an unusual shop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

It's just a shop and not the most welcoming one at that. Didn't find anything I wanted to buy. You can find overpriced candles at other stores with a nicer atmosphere.
