Attended a business conference here - not in the midst of the excitement, but certainly pleasant and nicely decorated. The heating/cooling unit was incredibly loud, but everything else about the room was pleasant.

When I checked in the receptionist (very nice) asked my preference for rooms. He suggested a room higher up that looked out over the city - turned out it looked right onto the Dome and it had very loud events that night. Oh, well.

One alert - if you aren't comfortable in an electronic environment, do not stay here. Everything from the elevators to the room is high tech, and not the clearest instructions. So beware (unless you like that).

Room service was very good. Beds quite comfortable.

Being in a hotel for a conference you really need all the bells and whistles you can find. This hotel had all! Restaurants, spa, hair salon, coffee shops, souvenir shops. The staff was very helpful and the hotel is very well kept.

Room Tip: Higher floors you can have some kind of view of the city

As others have noted this hotel is huge! Also very high tech. However modern, it was not uncomfortable like many "modern" hotels. Bed was quite good with great linens and chaise lounge was nice for reading. I was in town for work but was able to walk to French Quarter for dinner twice even if it was a bit of a hike. Not a lot else around the hotel, so you will want to go elsewhere to eat, shop, play, etc.

We were in town for a convention at this property, so we really didn't have a choice of places to stay-we had early mornings, meetings, etc. that warranted our staying at the host hotel. That is the ONLY reason we stayed there. We had a "suite" that was over $350 a night. I don't mind paying for a great room, but this was NOT a suite-the room was small, tiny bathroom, barely NO clothing storage and and the closet had a small set of shelves and a trash can in it, so there was barely any room to hang anything. Wait, it gets better. When we checked in I noticed the end table next to the bed was filthy-at least the person who came to clean it was pleasant and did a good job of getting the slime off the top of the table. Wait, it gets better. We had a dehumidifier in our room-when I moved it to store my suitcase there was a ring of mold around it on the carpet-YUK!!! Could they not move the thing and vacuum the entire floor? Makes you wonder what you didn't see! There were hairs in the shower-not ours, hairs on the bathroom floor-not ours. And the sofa was stained with who knows what. I will say the bed was comfortable, though. The floor of the hallways was not vacuumed the entire time we were there-5 days. My husband made a game out of finding the bobby pin every morning that was in the same spot in the hallway that hadn't been vacuumed. There was also a crunched cracker in front of our room-should have taken a pic of that. There also seemed to be broken glass in the hallway. The place was FILTHY! The banquet food we were served was awful. Pot-roast for one dinner-really? Some sort of BBQ beef with dried rice and nasty beans for another meal. At that lunch they ran out of food and we were a predetermined group-they knew how many of us there were. Another meal we were served hockey-puck chicken. Well you get the idea. The buffet breakfast was $25 a piece-really! For scrambled eggs, fruit, pastries and some fruit and coffee. I will say our waiter at breakfast-Brandt, I think, was WONDERFUL. Bright spot of the whole place. The acoustics in the meeting rooms were TERRIBLE! And most of the meeting rooms were freezing-seriously, one woman at a meeting was wearing a parka! The workout facility was nice-on the top floor and great view, but 1/2 of the treadmills weren't working. If you absolutely don't have to stay here-DON'T. I will say most of the staff was pleasant and helpful, but not even a nice smile could help this place. Too many great hotels to stay at in NOLA-pick one of those.

I came to New Orleans on vacation with friends and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Perfect location and price, extremely accommodating and attentive staff, beautiful facilities, and excellent service. A hotel manager even came by every room to make sure housekeeping cleaned your rooms satisfactorily. The many restaurants and bars offer a relaxing atmosphere and great food and drinks. The Superdome and Smoothie King Center are in the hotel's backyard, it is a short and scenic walk to the attractions at the French Quarters, and an inexpensive cab ride to places a little further out like Frenchman Street. We had an altogether fantastic experience, and the hotel was a major component. This hotel has our loyalty after only 2 nights. I could not imagine a better place to stay in New Orleans.

Probably one of the best hotels in New Orleans- the concierge are polite, the rooms are big (for good prices), and the hotel is HUGE! My family was a little worried about the safety of New Orleans, but seeing all of the security made us feel ALOT better. Definitely the best hotel I've ever been too.
