We stayed here for the New Orleans Rock n Roll Marathon. It is a perfect location if you plan on doing this race. The positives- Great location, completely renovated, nicely appointed rooms, cleanliness. The negatives- Check in was a disappointing experience. Although we arrived after 3:00p our room was not ready. The clerk seemed indifferent to the situation and just told us it should be ready in about an hour and just have a seat in the lobby. We turned around and saw the nearly total capacity crowd of guests who appeared to be in the same boat as us. We chose not to wait and decided to go sightseeing. No call came in after an hour so I called and they said our room was ready. We did, however, get a text message at 3:40am saying our room was ready.
As others have stated the lobby/escalator issue was slightly confusing but after a couple trips we figured this out.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms are best for a quieter stay.

We stayed here for the marathon, and it was perfect for us. Close enough to walk to the French Quarter but far enough away that you don't have to hear the noise late night. Borgne was a great restaurant by the way. Check it out.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on a business trip. Rooms were clean. Bed was ok (not bad, not great). Water pressure was good. Easy walk to the Superdome. Lots of food options in the hotel lobby area. Parking was a pain and costly but its that way everywhere in New Orleans. They did have a valet option. We would definitely stay here again.

We were originally supposed to stay at another hotel closer to bourbon street, but with the hurricane that happened that hotel was under renos so we were moved to the hyatt. It was a really nice hotel.
We were there for two nights, which also happened to be a weekend of a NFL game at the superdome. The reception was nice and gave us a room with a view of the dome which was a great view.
It's a big hotel. We watched a jazz band on the sat night with a bottle of wine and chocolate buffet. Very classy night in new Orleans. That was fun.
They have a pizza bar room service too. That was a really good pizza and quite cheap.
The concierge was great and helped us book a tour for that day and our shuttle to the airport.
There was a little bit of confusion with the wifi fee when we checked out, but that was sorted.
They have a pretty good shop with everything you would need. I got a new universal power outlet adaptor as I left mine at the hotel before.
I ended up liking this hotel after expecting to be staying somewhere else. A little bit of a walk to get to bourbon street but not too bad. Did go to a bar close by to the hotel to watch a game which was pretty good.

Room Tip: If a game is on at the superdome whilst staying, get a room with a view of the dome, you may not be...

As with most Hyatt this us a good hotel. The price I paid was too high for what I got. I really wonder who was the genius that planned a shower which leaks all over the bathroom. And they don't even give you a floor mat. The shower header id too low and weak.

Other than that, good room and decent gym for a hotel.

If you like big, expensive, and lots of space to roam this is your hotel. I prefer not having to walk for ten minutes just to get on the elevator to go to room. This hotel is too far from the quarter so don't stay here unless you like to walk and have lots of time to waste! There are so many hotels in NOLA that are better, cheaper, and located closer to where everyone wants to be. For the money the rooms are small. Bathrooms even smaller! Price value poor! Sorry Hyatt, just not impressed.

First impressions of the hotel were positive, - good customer service, restaurant options, decent sized rooms, and Regency Club breakfast.
Then came the next morning when we saw the stained comforter and the first shower where a previous female guest's razor was still in the shower. These observations made us question the cleanliness of the room in general and left us with a disdain for this Hyatt; particularly since we are platinum members.
