We enjoyed a 7-day stay at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans and overall found it to be a beautiful facility. Staff members were very friendly, helpful and professional. Housekeeping was a bit uneven...must have depended on who was cleaning the room that day. We are caffeine addicts so requested a coffee maker in the room, which housekeeping brought up the first night along with one tiny packet of regular and another tiny packet of decaf. Then each day we'd have to leave a note requesting regular vs. decaf; sometimes we'd get lucky, other days not so much. However, there's a Starbucks on site so we ended up making a morning pilgrimage there for giant coffees & a bowl of oatmeal (MUCH cheaper than breakfast at the lovely restaurant) and use of free wi-fi so that worked out great. We walked to the French Quarter in the daytime no problem -- probably a 20 minute walk and interesting to look at the architecture along the way. A cab ride never cost more than $10 to anywhere we wished to go so that was a great back-up, as well. Just three blocks away is a Rouse's grocery store with a well-stocked deli and wine selection. We also made use of the fabulous fitness facility on the 32nd floor with panoramic views of the skyline...highly recommended. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the room was very quiet, aside from the humming of the AC that is a bit loud.
