Great location. Spacious suite. Great staff. Hotel is quiet - a real "find" in the French Quarter. Walking distance to everything in the French Quarter. Not a lot of amenities. Room decor dated - very '70's. Regardless, we would stay there again.

Good location, romantic, and friendly staff. The room was a little run down but had character. The breakfast in the morning and the pool in the back was very nice. The area was very quiet at night but very close to all the bars and restaurants on Bourbon Street.

Perfect location in French Quarter, five minutes from Frenchman's Street and five minutes from the French Market. Charming, European style throughout. The room was clean and spacious, and had a balcony overlooking the street. It was far enough from Bourbon Street to be quiet at night. Will come back again next time we're in New Orleans.

This gem is within walking distance of anything you would want to do in the French Quarter, and the trolley is too! The staff is exceptional from the front desk to wonderful ladies that keep the rooms clean. The owner is so warm and welcoming, the hotel itself is beautiful and quiet. There is a courtyard around the pool that is perfectly lit for an evening cocktail at the bar. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to experience New Orleans without all the craziness of Bourbon Street. I will stay here anytime I am in New Orleans. there is a gated parking lot, once you park your car there is no reason to move it until you leave the city.

Very well located in the French Quarter but far enough away from the noise of Bourbon Street to be surprisingly quiet at night. Hotel is old style with a small European hotel feel to it, there is a small bar and breakfast area at the rear as well as a pool. There are no in rooms safes, however their are safe deposit boxes located in the reception area. Our room was located on the third floor with a small balcony (enough for a very small table and two chairs). The room was quite dark and the fittings, in particular the bathroom very dated, although kept very clean. Walking distance to all French Quarter attractions, including places to eat. Approximately 10 minute walk to Bourbon Street. Didn't see the coffee in the lobby, ate breakfast one day which was good and reasonable priced. The front desk staff went out of their way to be helpful and were always friendly. It was out first visit to New Orleans so I cannot compare to other hotels or areas to stay in, however if being close to what the French Quarter has to offer and you are ok with a a room and bathroom being fairly dated this hotel could suit.

Chartes Street is near enough to Bourbon Street to visit but far enough away not to be disturbed by the constant noise. The Le Richelieu is an 'old style' hotel conveniently situated just 5 minutes from the French Market.
Our room was standard size with a small balcony but facing Chartres Street which was alittle noisy at night so if you like a quiet life then ask for a room away from the road. The room was complete with all the normal things but could do with a hospitality tray although they did provide coffee in the lobby in the mornings. Canal Street, the main road downtown in New orleans is only a pleasant 15 minute walk away so if you want a hotel in good location this could be it.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the street for a quiet night.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. I was able to walk everywhere in the French Quarter, often coming back to the hotel midday to escape the heat and enjoy the pool. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms comfortable, and I appreciated the complementary morning coffee.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony. You are above a quiet street but it is still nice to step outside.
