Like the title says. Started looking for a room late and expected to pay a lot for little. I was wrong.Very good value. No,it isn't a 5 star hotel, but they didn't charge 5 star prices either.Anywhere you stay or eat, things you do and people you meet have a bad day or apple once and again.Luckily we never had any problems. The staff was excellent. The rooms were small, but nice.Coffee shop downstairs. Elevators really fast, always a plus.Location was great. Across Canal street from Royal. And yes, valet parking was $32 a night, but $16 if you self park just couple blocks away. They were very nice telling us where. You're in NOLA! Like Vegas, your supposed to use your room just to sleep and change clothes. If not, your doing it wrong.lol Will definitely be staying there again no matter when I book.

Room Tip: We had large groups and large people,so they put us in a couple handicap rooms for the extra space.L...

My family and I stayed at this hotel for a week and we could not have chosen a better hotel. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the french quarter and the casino. The street car stop was right outside. The front desk staff was exceptional. The rooms were clean, and you could tell they had recently renovated. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that we had what we needed and enjoyed our stay I would also recommend the PJ's Coffee shop that was in the lobby. The girls there were great. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch that we had here. Overall, no complaints. This is the only hotel we will stay at in New Orleans from now on. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience for a great price.

Really nice modern hotel located just outside the French quarter (3 minute walk). We stayed in a deluxe double which was quite a small room but had everything we needed and more (coffee maker/ironing board etc). The only problem with this place is there is no breakfast offered but there are plenty of great places to eat nearby. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I recently returned from my stay at the Royal St. Charles. It is a quaint hotle; space in the rooms are quite small; I hade a double deluxe. The hotel is close to everything Bourbon street is 2 blocks away. Most of the restaurants are close by as well.
Back to the hotel.. I cant say Felt like my business was appreciated; I was greeted warmly. But other than that no one went out of their way.
Parking at the hotel is VERY expensive; 32 a day to valet park. I am glad I did not rent a car because really parking can be a hassle in New Orleans. Renting a car is a not needed. If you do not feel like walking you can take public transportation for a nominal fee which allows you to ride all day.
The hotel was clean. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were awesome.

Check in was slow. The desk staff never really acknowledged us when we walked up, they just asked for our name. The housekeeping staff never cleaned the toilet while we were there. The sheets and blankets were cheap. The staff was not so much rude, but not courteous. We booked and paid on Expedia, but then the hotel charged us for 4 nights lodging and taxes on the card we used for "incidentals." They charged us 4 days after we had left the hotel. They agreed to refund it, but makes me question if I hadn't caught it what would have happenned.

Interesting that they all had "We strive for a 5" badges with a Trip Advisor logo on them.

A group of us stayed at this hotel over 2012/13 New Year's Eve. All rooms were the same price but not all were the same size - we had the smallest one with no view, but the room was still very nicely appointed with a comfy bed, big tv, plenty of cupboards and shelves and a decent hair dryer. No shower caps provided so ladies, bring your own. The water pressure in the shower is just ok, and you will need to let the water run 5-10 min to get hot if you are bathing during morning rush hour but it does get hot and there is plenty of it. Do check your door when leaving - we found that our's would not lock shut behind us 2-3 times and it was fiddly to get it to lock and a little disconcerting. We'd recommend using the valet parking - they will retrieve your car as many times a day as you need it and it's only a little more expensive than the already expensive self parking nearby. We, and the bellhops, had difficulty finding taxis to go only a few blocks for those in our party who had trouble walking, but the bicycle rickshaws were a fun alternative, and the location is excellent in a safe and quiet area within easy walking distance of anywhere you'd want to be in the French Quarter. Friendly and helpful staff, as we found most people working in New Orleans to be. We would not recommend the in-house PJ Coffee Shop - we tried over several days at different times and the service was always very, very slow and the bagels were always stale. We loved New Orleans and would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: 513, 515 are both large rooms with sitting room areas and big windows; 509 is a small double with on...

The check-in process was inefficient. It took about 15 minutes for someone to greet me. I called for extra towels and washcloths and had to call back a half hour later because no one came to our room with them.

There was a booking error through a third party agent, so the hotel called while I was out and told me I had to check out right away. Instead of trying to accommodate the error or finding another location to stay for two more nights, the hotel staff continuously argued and acted unprofessional. I will never stay there again, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
