My family and I stayed during All Star Weekend so were prepared for noise; great food and an awesome All Star Weekend. The airlines almost made it a disaster with US Airways cancelling flights out and in, but the Renaissance with its location a block from the French Quarter, its cheerful and happy staff and very nice rooms helped put us in a much better mood. Complements to GM Frank Zumbo and his staff. Gave us great recommendations and took care of any requests we had. Nathanlel at the Concierge; ladies at the bar and breakfast buffet awesome. We would definitely stay again. BTW No heard noise outside as several reviews noted.

29 colleagues and I stayed and met here the week before Mardi Gras. There was construction across the street, but I requested a room in the back. The room was clean and I had a great view! Regardless of construction, ask for a room in the back on the top floors. Our meeting room was great. The food was good, and our coordinator was able to send a text message when we were in need of more water, etc.. The front desk help was courteous every day of our stay. I would stay here on a personal trip. Canal street is one block away, and the French Quarter is in easy walking distance. Enjoyed the gym, it was clean and bright.

We had a group function here recently and we were very pleased at the accommodations, the meeting facilities and the staff at the Pere Marquette. The only drawback (albeit temporary) is the loud noise from the remodel across the street. A building directly across the street is being gutted and the material being discarded is being disposed down a series of chutes from up to 12 floors. I will say that the staff at the Pere Marquette and construction crews respected the hotel guests by only working from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.

Room Tip: Try to stay away from rooms that face the Common Street remodel.

Pros:
Easy to find, excellent location just a block or so away from Bourbon, beautiful spacious rooms, really awesome decor, gorgeous bar area and expansive lounge with trendy seating, really nice staff - very welcoming and accomodating and responsive, fridge in room for extra etoh or food storage, big gorgeous windows for a great view.

Cons:
Glass shower lovely but leaked on floor so towels were used to soak up all the extra water, construction across the street makes for an early noisy morning, ice machine on floor was broken. Nothing too bad, I would stay here again.

Across the street from an amazing small local coffee and crepe shop that made a delicious breakfast and coffee. Walking distance to everything location is perfect. Gorgeous hotel, I really enjoyed this place. All of the pros far outweight the few cons.

I stayed four nights with friends over the marathon weekend. The rooms were pretty small and the Starbucks in the lobby didn't open all weekend. The location was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Dear Rachel F, its always great to hear comments like yours that spotlight great hotel staff members and service. The hotel is a very unique, distinctive historic structure (like many hotels in downtown New Orelans and the French Quarter) which does translate into smaller room sizes compared to new contruction hotels. We apologize if you found the room size too small for your comfort . While room size is a characterisitc that cannot be altered due to the historic nature of the building we strive to provide chic decor, comfortable and functional designed room spaces partnered with friendly and attentive staff. We always appreciate and encourage your feedback to help guide future hotel service and design plans.

Awesome room BUT 38.00 dollars to park per day 13.00 for wifi per day thats 54.00 dollars per day for your stay. If your there 3 days thats 162.00 there is no free breakfast of any kind and for this price WIFI and parking should be included.

Room Tip: Get a room on the back side the hotel in front of them is under construction and very loud

Dear Maboaw, thank you for your feedback in your review. We are glad to know you were very pleased with your guestroom describing it as an "awesome room". Unfortunately it seems the pricing structure for other hotel amenities or services overshadowed other factors leading to a low review score. We are very proactive in positioning ourselves to maintain competitive pricing with other hotels in the area. Parking is certainly a demand service in the downtown New Orleans and French Quarter areas making it quite expensive. We ensure our pricing remains in line with other valet parking options from competitor hotels. In addition, we readily provide information about alternative nearby self-park garage options for guests who find the valet parking option at the garage adjacent to the hotel to be cost prohibitive.

Two months after their employee stole or"lost" my bag, with thousands of dollars of equipment lost, Marriott is unable to come up with a reason why they can't reimburse for the losses. The staff at the hotel stated they would make it whole, but so far nothing. DO NOT stay at this hotel!
