In the interest of full disclosure I am a Platinum Elite and Platinum for life. I always stay at Marriott. This hotel was well decorated, clean and comfortable. The room was a little bit smaller than the typical Marriott room but you are in a city setting. Certainly not cramped or uncomfortable/
The concierge lounge is currently under renovation so they gave me two breakfast vouchers for each day I was there. Full menu or buffet. Excellent breakfast at Mila
Service was typical Marriott...no issues.
Parking expensive, $46+ per day. It cost more to park the car than to rent it! We walked a lot. If staying in the area take the streetcars rather than renting a car

Great location! One block off of Canal Street just across from Bourbon Street

We usually stay at the W New Orleans because it's in a convenient place between the convention center and French Quarter. It was full, so we found this hotel on the Marriott website. Location was perfect - one block off Canal and close to other major hotels. Finding it was a breeze - no matter what direction you were walking from. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful at checkin. In fact, all staff members we interacted with were top notch. The decor is very modern and hip, but it's very clear it's a historic building. Unfortunately we had one of the smallest rooms in the hotel (with a closet door that couldn't be opened all the way because it ran into the nightstand) but it was on a high floor with a King Bed and trading out to a larger room would have us on a lower floor with two beds. It was just for a few nights and the amount of sunlight streaming into the room made up for the size. What a nice surprise and great place to stay if we're back in the area again.

For the money we spent, this was a very Spartan hotel. No tub, only a shower. Small room. Valet parking is a joke. Total chaos whenever we tried to get our car and get out of the garage. Cost to park was way too high. I was quoted a price and received a confirmation three days before arrival. Bill was delivered under our door with the price of the room jacked up by $10. The worst part was that that line item was hidden under a black bar so you could barely see it. I do believe this is a deceptive tactic and if they make an extra $10 on each guest, they are making out like bandits. Staff was ok, but nothing special. I've stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels that were nicer and had more amenities than this extremely over priced hotel did. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Have no idea what other rooms looked like.

Our room was right next door to the Catholic Church. You could literally look out our window and see the church bells. These church bells chimed every fifteen minutes starting at 7am. It wasn't a pleasant sound after the first day. The bells chimed every day until late in the evening. If you stay at this hotel, make sure you ask to stay in a room that you can't hear the church bells. Because if you stay up all night enjoying the attractions, you won't be able to sleep past 7 am. We made our reservations 7 months in advance and got the worst room offered at the Renaissance. We will not stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask to stay far away from the catholic church next door.

The Pere Marquette is a lovely historical hotel. The lobby is decorated in a very modern motif. It is very inviting. The front door staff make the checking in and out feel very personal - like a bed and breakfast. During our stay there was rain. They had large and small umbrellas for sale at the front desk for your convenience. The location is just off from the Bourbon street craziness by about 3 blocks. Perfect! There are a few good restaurants on the same block as the hotel. Our room was #1115. It had a beautiful view of the domes on the church nearby. In the mornings we woke to the sound of the bells chiming. We loved this - - but if you don't like that idea, do not stay in that room! The room itself is very small but had all of the conveniences necessary. One other big hint - do not pay for the valet parking! If you pass the hotel by 1 block and turn right you will find a public parking lot for only $15.00 per night! I can recommend this hotel and plan to stay again.

Room Tip: If you do not want to be woken by church bells ask for a quiet room.

Beautiful hotel! Great location and wonderful service. Several restaurants nearby and walking distance to the French Quarter. Rooms luxurious, modern, and bed is super comfortable. Plenty of space. Front desk was very accommodating and checked us in early due to an a morning flight arrival. Would stay here again and highly recommend.
