We arrived late at night during a busy time for the Halloween weekend. The front desk was friendly and helpful. They made extra effort to ensure our comfort. One of the things they did was help us get oriented, we were parked in super wrong spot, they just had the valet take care of it. The asked us where were wanted to go and what we wanted to do while in the city. This is the type of customer service you dream about. They went the extra mile and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A tidy spot walking distance from Canal Street and the French Quarter. We weren't all that far from the casino as well. They was a lot of night life and the hotel was best place to recover after a long night of mischief. Great spot!

Room Tip: Check with the front desk to find something good to do at night. You will find a way to enjoy yours...

We usually stay at the JW Marriott or the standard Marriott on Canal in New Orleans, but on a busy weekend, they were booked and we found a room at the Pere Marquette. The room was on the small side. The hotel is older, but the lobby has been thoroughly updated and our bathroom had an updated vanity, shower stall, and mirror. The bathroom was large relative to the size of the room. The bed, towels, and furnishings were up to Marriott standards. This hotel is around the block from the JW Marriott on Canal. Because of this, it was a pretty quiet location for being so close to the French Quarter. We asked for, and received, a high floor. We heard virtually nothing from other guests and very little street noise. It is a matter of moments to walk around the corner from the hotel to Bourbon Street. We didn't eat at the hotel, but the fitness center was sufficient with three treadmills, two ellipticals, and free weights. We liked that this hotel offers an in-room safe which is not offered at the standard Marriott. Like the JW, this hotel also is smaller and has a quieter atmosphere than the huge number of rooms and busy lobby at the standard Marriott. The valet was efficient and we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly they retrieved our car for checkout. Overall, we would definitely consider the Pere Marquette again.

This is billed as a high end Marriott, which it is not. We had just left the Battle house in Mobile and this hotel is under the same brand name. Same name different service, the staff is wonderful, the property is average. I suppose this is due to the age of the property and location. Breakfast was satisfactory, location is excellent. Hope this helps you avoid the surprises we had after leaving a great Marriott property and assuming this property was comparable. All Renaissance properties are not the same, however, they all have quality staff.

This was the cleanest hotel I have stayed in in the past five years. Room was a little small but quiet even close to the elevator. We had two windows with good views and the bathroom was large and very clean. Free WiFi only in the lobby but, since we were there for pleasure, no big deal. Concierge was WONDERFUL! I like the location because it is close to the French Quarter but not in the French Quarter.

My husband was scheduled to attend a medical course in September. The hotel we were booked in suffered water damage from Hurrican Isaac. We had a group of about 40 attendees. At the 11th hour Renaissance Pere Marquette came to the rescue, and were able to accomodate everyone. We had a bright corner room, which was quite large, clean, and had comfortable bedding. Everyone on the staff was very helpful, and pleasant. Our reservations were simply transferred from our previous hotel, and the transition was perfect.

The ground floor hotel called Mila, was perfect for us. We ate there 3 nights, because we hadn't sampled everything that we thought looked so good! We would definately return, for both the Hotel and Mila.

I used Priceline and was given this 4-star hotel for a fraction of the normal rack rate. While the place was very nice, with lots of upscale amenities, I definitely don't think it was worth the price I would have paid without Priceline. But again, I didn't have to.

The front desk staff was pleasant and accomodating when I checked in--a little less so when I checked out, but still fine. I was on the 8th floor, and my room was upscale and spotless. I loved the duvets that are changed for each guest (the grossest thing about hotel rooms, in my opionion, is the bedspreads that get touched by Lord only knows how many people, and in how many ways, between washings), and the selection of pillows. The flat screen tv got surprisingly few channels. Way less than your normal budget motel. I stayed in a Days Inn the night before, and had twice as many channels to select from. I thought that was a bit odd.

There was a pool, and a health club, and lots more, but I didn't use any of them. Of course there is room service, and lots of other amenities, none of which I usually use.

The bathroom was probably my favorite part of the hotel. It had great white marble floors and a wonderful modern sink with great faucets. And the supplies in the bathroom were upscale (Aveeno).

And lastly, the hotel is in a great location for many tourists in that it is only one block from the French Quarter. Also, it is only a couple of blocks from the St. Charles trolley car line, which I am sure will one day be working again.

I stayed here for four nights while attending a conference. The staff was friendly, the rooms clean and the beds comfy. My room was a king on the 15th floor, since I have elite status with Marriott I was able to use the 19 floor concierge suite.

They have a nice outdoor pool located on the third level.

Great stay.

Room Tip: Pay extra and stay on the 19th floor. This will give you access to the concierge suite. They have a...
