“Nice enough”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

Four of my girlfriends rented the suite that sleeps 7. I live in the neighborhood and stayed one night with them. The girls loved the place, it had an oven, stove, full fridge, coffee maker, beds were not the most comfy, but the girls were ok with them. Shower was fine. The room is like a shotgun house, similar to a place you would rent in the neighborhood if you lived here. I had breakfast with them, the food is fine and basic, similar to anything you would get as a free breakfast at any other place. The rates are good for the area. If you want 4 stars this is not the place, but if you want an affordable place in a great location to the quarter and in a nice neighborhood, this will do. One thing I would like to see changed is an update on the door frame and door security.

Where to start.......
shower did not work properly in my room the entire time. Towels were
falling apart, and overall appearance was less than 1 star if I could leave
that . I really don't get how you advertise this as a great hotel
as things are clearly falling apart. Dresser door falling apart, dirty
bathroom with unscrewed lower valve and variations in hot and cold. Shower leaked water onto floor outside bathroom, shower pressure was not sufficient enough to wash yourself, pathetic! Along
with that a stupid stray cat that came into my room randomly that i had to get
someone to remove. Dirty overall look, door does not line up properly to the frame, carpet was falling apart in room. Overall I would not return and do not understand how this
is still a standing business.

Room Tip: Do yourself a favor and choose another hotel or spend $20 more a night and you'll avoid the hass...

I stayed here with a large group doing research. We had two of the upstairs rooms, one with 9 (!) twin beds and other with 6 twin beds. Each room had one bathroom. These would probably be great for low-cost bachelor/ette parties or group getaways of any sort.

First, the good: Tremendous covered back patio where there is coffee available most of the day and night. Everything was pretty clean considering the age of the place. Our upstairs rooms had access to their own roof deck with furniture. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the location near coffee shops and funky bars.

Now, the bad: No heat! The week visited was unexpectedly cold. Our room only had 2 blankets for 9 beds, and when I asked for 8 more (for the rest of our group among the two rooms) the front desk guy said he only had one to give me. If you don't have heat (which is reasonable enough, I guess, considering how hot it usually is) at least have blankets! The front desk was able to give our room a space heater. The other room got one too, but every time they used it it blew their fuse and they were without power for hours.
Breakfast was pretty weak. Instant oatmeal and Entenmann's-type pastries. Some fruit and yogurt would have been a very welcome addition.
Also, our rooms had almost no light. There were at least three lamps that seemed to be purely for decoration, as they weren't plugged in and the switches were actually broken.

Overall a good budget choice, but possibly better for younger, tougher travelers.

We stayed for a week in a mini suite. Description is exaggerated. There is no door or curtain between 2 beds. Rooms are very compact. No place to sit down. Walls are thin and it was very noisy. Breakfast was a disappointment--no fruit just cheap bread and cereal.

They do have a washer and dryer and courtyard is nice. Staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable on area.

Really enjoyed our stay! The rooms are nice, great value. Location is good, about 10 minutes walk to the french quarter, and around the corner from the music in frenchmen street. The staff gave some good tips regarding restaurants as well.
