Holiday Inn Downtown Superdome

Our visit was for a graduation and the whole city was pretty well booked. The service was very good and the hotel was clean and comfortable. We were two women staying alone and we felt quite safe. The location is away from Canal St, but still convenient. The hotel provides shuttles, but we did not take advantage of the service. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. My only complaint was the high cost of parking.

Hotel room was OK (executive level). Parking was around $23/day, and for this price, you have to park the car yourself!!! French Quarter is about a 20-30 minute from this hotel; there is a free shuttle traveling every hour and only up to 10 pm, so it is necessary to take a cab to return (or the streetcar on Canal Street then walk few blocks). Depressive atmosphere within the hotel, which seems to be frequented only by large elderly groups or business travelers on a budget.

Will not recommend this hotel if you are looking for having a good time in New Orleans! Select an hotel closer to downtown. Sheraton and the Omni Hotel are both located a lot closer to the action!

I went with the park and cruise package for 99.00. We didn't use the parking lot, but the shuttle took us to the cruise ship without a hitch! We stayed two nights. We had four rooms and an 8 year old with us. The rooms were beautiful! The breakfast was great! They had a rooftop pool that was heated. Anywhere you wanted to go, the shuttle basically took you close enough to your destination. My mom has walking problems, and we were worried, but it was great. The hotel consiere booked a tour for us. The only thing that sucked was the dinner. We never ate dinner there because the line was so long and it seemed like there were not enough servers. I was very pleased with the hotel! Not trashy, I would suggest not going out after dark unless you take the shuttle. They suggest several places to order in. I wouldn't suggest to my dog, the Half Moon River cafe. They were rude and it took an hour and half to deliver the food and it was cold and looked like it was sat on. The hotel was great though!

My spouse and I were part of an Exploritas Group and stayed at this hotel as part of the experience. The hotel was close to the French Quarter but not in the French Quarter so buses could come and go to the hotel with the group. When we wanted to get away from the group and walk to the French Quarter, we were able to do so with no problem.

The buffet breakfasts did not vary but they were of good variety and quality. The few buffet dinners we had there were excellent.

The decor was cute, featuring all jazz instruments. I especially liked the two sinks and the beds were exceptionally comfortable in the room. The hotel also afforded protected parking for our car.

Unhappiest , rudest employees I've seen in a long time, with two exceptions. Rooms are not upgraded, dirty carpet in hallways, holes in arms of chair in room. On their website, self parking is advertised at $10 per day. Actually you are charged just over $22.00 per day.

Not the smartest or brightest hotel ever, but one which could offer a reasonable deal during Mardi Gras so we were prepared to put up with the slight dinginess. It's true as is said in other reviews that it's not the pleasantest place to walk back to at night but it's OK if you choose your route carefully, and within 2 years there should be a new streetcar on Loyola which should solve the problem. A very ordinary hotel but one which serves its purpose.

Our family of 4 adults (2 couples) stayed at the Holiday Inn Superdome before our NCL cruise on Jan 31st. The hotel is clean, in a good location with free hotel shuttle, and rooms are large plus nicely furnished. The downtown area is a bit noisy at night so you may hear noises through the balcony windows. Hotel staff especially Ashley at the front desk were great and always had a smile while helping us with our check-in and questions about getting around New Orleans (went to the WWII museum a short distance away).
We booked the cruise package for less than $100 per night which included the one night stay and free parking for the duration of our week long cruise. Your vehicle is located in a secure garage with an attendant and key card entry/exit. You can take the hotel shuttle to the cruise pier but must take a taxi back tot he hotel. Enjoyed the HI Superdome's hospitality.
