“Nice hotel, great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2010

We stayed at the Drury July 1-5 for the Essence Music Festival. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean with a flat screen t.v. and comfortable king size bed. The room was smaller than it appears in the pictures, but it was still nice. The "free" breakfast in the morning was the usual waffles, cereal, muffins, etc... that they have at any other hotel. The evening snack was so so, chips, chicken fingers, hot dogs, kind of childrens birthday party fare. The website said they change slightly each night, but this didn't happen. The drinks were great, the bartender was not stingy with the alcohol. Also, it was close to everything we needed, the Superdome, the convention center, The French quarter and Harrah's casino, we walked everywhere. I would stay here again and recommend it.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was impressed. We had a corner room with two double beds and the room was great with floor to ceiling windows! Our room was clean and a nice size, and included free internet. This hotel is only a short 5-10min walk to French quarter. Close proximity to street car was an added bonus. It's so close to the French Quarter you are better off staying here and saving your $$$ for other events.
Free Quick Start breakfast in the morning and between 5:30pm - 7pm free food and drinks are served in the lobby. Free soda and popcorn is available from 3pm-10pm, but it wasn’t always working while we were there. The pool on the roof (10th floor) was great with nice views, but the exercise room only has three machines. The only downside: parking is $17/night, though you can street park and save a few $.

We stayed two nights and had cold showers both days... could not get hot water in the shower on any af multiple tries throughout the day and night.... three trips to the front desk proved fruitless.

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very impressed. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and we didn't have to pay for parking so that was handy! The room was a good size and nicely decorated. The pool on the roof was great after a hot day walking around and good views. Between 5.30pm - 7pm they have free food and drink in reception, and they have a free drinks and popcorn machine running all day. This hotel was a good location - about 10 mins walk to Bourbon Street and the water front.

Pros: Drinks/popcorn from 3-10; Snacks/drinks from 5:30-7; pretty interior; comfortable rooms; pool/hot tub on roof. Cons: parking extra/awkward parking; outside door broke causing long walk to front; ice machine broke. We encountered employees that were beyond nice but had a run-in with two who were just rude (gossiping loudly; treating customers as if they were stupid because they couldn't use elevator). Overall- good experience.

My friends and I had a blast at this hotel. There are so many freebies, Breakfast and Happy Hour. The staff members were also pleasant. It's so close to the French Quarter you are better off staying here and saving your $$$ for other events.
Also if you are planning to book a group rate, Drury Inn was very easy to work with, I definitely would recommend this hotel for 1 room or 20 rooms.

Only downside, parking is $17/night, though you can street park and say a few $$...
