We stayed at the Drury Inn & Suites before and after our cruise from New Orleans to Mexico and I must say that this hotel is top notch.

Large rooms, excellent baths, rooftop pool and hot tub, great for the New Orleans night life, nice complimentary breakfast.

The staff are very attentive without being over bearing and the shift managers have the authority to make decisions in the best interest of the customers. No waiting for "the Manager"

Nicely located on Poydras St close enough to walk to the French Quarter, the River Front, the Central Business District or the Superdome, or whatever it's called now.

The desk staff can make taxi arrangements, tour arrangements, etc.

We would definitely stay here again.

After the cruise it was like coming home.

We stayed in a suite as part of a family trip. My parents, my husband, our 1 year old twins and I shared a room. The space was adequate and even the pull out sofa was not too bad. My husband was worried that we were sleeping on a pull out, but it worked out ok. There was plenty of oom for allof our luggage and two cribs. As we were coming off of a cruise there was a lot of luggage. As others have said the food is a bonus and saved us a lot money. It is not gourmet, but penne pasta and chicken nuggets were fine by me when I as hungry and it was convenient. The hotel has a lot of nice anemities such as a laundry room (on level two, $1.50 for wash and $1 to dry, about the same to purchase soap) free wifi, computers, copiers and printers ( one copier/printer and two computers in the lobby area.). A pool and jacuzzi, with a very hot jacuzzi on the top floor along with a small gym and convenient to bus and trolley stops make this hotel a great choice. The staff was always nice, helpful and friendly. the free drinks in the lobby were awessome as we always returned thirsty. they had sodas ( Pepsi products) from a fountain as well as coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There were two disappointing things with the hotel, but not enough to not have me stay here again. One is since it is near the end of the trolley line on Canal that trying to take the trolley to Canal was almost impossible. As we had a lot of people and strollers it was easier to walk down to canal and join a line from there or walk down two blocks to take the bus- which is usually less crowded. The few times we tried to join the trolley it passed us or stopped only to say it was full. Keep that in mind if you planned on using public transport. Also the elevators required the use of a key to access all but the first floor. As we had two other rooms in our party, on different floors, this got to be very annoying. Make sure every adult has a key or you will be going on a ride in the elevator. Overall a great budget choice. I would differently stay here again. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is the location.

If you are looking for a clean, reasonably priced hotel centrally located in New Orleans be sure to check out the Drury. The rooms have most of the expected amenities (except an in-room safe) and a few extras you except from Drury. I can't say enough good things about the front desk staff, Aliya and Edwardo. They checked me in and out quickly and accurately and even held my bags for a quick breakfast in the CBD. Parking is easy and relatively inexpensive. The rooms are very clean, as I'm pretty picky when it come to that. High ceilings and comfortable bedding. A/C ran quiet and temperature control was perfect.

The Dome and Arena are a just few blocks away and the F.Q. not too much further. In good weather, the walk is easy either direction.

Will definitely be a regular. Thanks Drury.

Quiet but a short walk to the center of the French Quarter, the Drury offers a full hot buffet in the evenings as well as a full breakfast buffet (including those waffles) each morning. Oh yes, they are willing to offer wine inter al. each evening and popcorn too. Amazingly like a home away from home.

Room Tip: All are quiet....

We stayed here for 6 nights and completely loved our stay. The front desk staff were very helpful and always friendly. We needed an optometrist for our child's glasses and she advised us where to go. She also followed up to see if we were helped out which we were! We were advised on tours to book (Natchez Steamboat and Bayou airboat tours) and restaurant recommendations were perfect for our family.

Our room was fantastic! Clean and spacious with a wonderful view of the Mississippi and city. We had some plumbing problems with our tap not shutting off and toilet not flushing. They were fixed promptly and this did not negatively impact our stay. The cleaning staff were friendly and our room was always supplied and cleaned. The service from all departments of the hotel was exceptional.

Pool on the rooftop was heated...needed this as it is not that warm this time of year. With the wind it was quite chilly up there. It was closed one day to be drained and cleaned but the hotel made arrangements with a hotel across the road so we used their indoor pool that day! It did take 3 days for the pool to reheat back up, but the kids didn't mind!

The breakfast was descent but as we stayed for 6 nights it was repetitive. Could have mixed it up but was good all around. The " Kick Back" hour from 5:30-7pm was unreal! Not just snacks and drinks, but delicious white meat chicken fingers (better than most restaurants) baked potatoes, meatballs, pasta, veggies, nachos, etc. The service staff were wonderful and always friendly, even with the 3 bus tours that came through and the seniors took root at 4:30 anticipating this kick back time! Our kids had this for dinner 2 nights as it was sufficient for them. Great hospitable addition to staying at a hotel!

The location was close to French Quarter and right beside the St. Charles streetcar that will take you through the Garden district. We found it very central to the activities we planned. The front desk were always willing to call us a cab or the valet parking staff too.

We will definitely stay here again and seek out Drury Inns when travelling.
