“Great location, good service!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Drury Inn & Suites is on great location: just a few blocks to French Quarter, Superdome, Riverwalk & Warehouse District so you can take a short walk to all those places.

We stayed on the 6th floor in a 2 room suite with 1 king bed. The king bed was perfect for sleeping, but the sofa bed was not. We asked for an extra mattress as the sofa was too hard to sleep. The mattresses were absolutely too old and flat for sleeping.

The bathroom was okay as well as the free WiFi, which didn't need any usernames or passwords.

The breakfast was good with hot and cold food. The Kickback starts at 5:30 pm and is a great way to relax with a few drinks and snacks before going out in the evening.

Check-in and check-out were quick and staff at the reception was extremely helpful all the time. Would definetely stay there at Drury again – but avoiding the sofa bed.

Room Tip: Stay on the upper floors, the tram on the street is quite noisy.

Hotel needs some updating but we really enjoyed our stay. We had a suite which was a king bedroom and separate living area with a fold-out couch. Very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids.

We took advantage of the free breakfast in the morning and it was very good. We were traveling with family including 3 kids and the evening "snacks" were fantastic! The menu changed every night for the nights were were there. The complimentary drinks were small but they were free so no complaints! There was enough food and variety that it was dinner for the kids and we were able to either leave them at the hotel (older kids with a teenager to babysit) while we took advantage of NOLA's great restaurants or take them with us and just let them order dessert so were weren't spending a lot of money on the kids in the nicer restaurants.

The front-desk staff was wonderful. Wish I could remember the name of the lady that helped us. She worked with us before our arrival to find the best tours for our group and followed up with us frequently during our stay. All staff that we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

The pool area is small and can get very crowded but it was fine to let the kids expend some energy and sit outside for a while.

Room Tip: The first suite we were in had no windows. Make sure you ask for a room with windows.

We stayed at the Drury I&S NOLA for 2 nights prior to leaving on a cruise. We had a very nice king room / sofa bed suite (2 rooms separate by a door that could be closed) that wrapped around the corner of the building with lots of windows. The ceilings were very high and the decorative window treatments and cornice boards added to the ambiance of being in NOLA. The room and bathroom were very clean. The pillows and beds were softer than I liked, but they sufficed. It might be time though that the hotel looked into upgrading though in the near future. The hotel had a very good location. It was easily within walking distance of the French Quarter and Riverfront. We walked the area during the daylight and evening hours and never felt unsafe. We have stayed in the FQ before and like this location much better - close to the action, but not in the middle of it! The morning breakfast and evening " 530 Kickback" provided a wide variety of food and beverages. Since NOLA is a town with such excellent food, it was hard not to spoil our evening dinner with all the wonderful items provided at Kickback. The choices provided could have easily been enough to make a meal - which we ended up doing one night! Plus, each guest (over 21) gets 2 free drink tickets for "adult" beverages. The soda fountain was always open so that you could get carbonated beverages whenever so that was an added bonus. Fresh popped popcorn was also available from 3 - 10 pm daily. All of the staff we encountered at the Drury were very friendly and went out of their way to try to assist in whatever need or question we had. The manager was quite often visibly present which I think ensures that a hotel is run as it should be. Brandon and Jeremy, our valets, always had our car ready and waiting whenever we called for it. We would definitely stay at Drury NOLA again and would recommend it to others!

Room Tip: King Suite that wraps around the building corner!

This hotel was a little dated but the room was a good size and clean. Great happy hour in the evening......although we ate a little too much so robbed ourselves of getting some more local cuisine in the french quarter :-( Good service at reception and only a couple of blocks away from the action. Would definitely stay again as good value.

I booked 2 rooms for 8 of us at another French Quarter hotel. Arriving late at night, after a full day of travelling ,we were very dismayed to learn that there had been plumbing issues and they did not have any rooms left for us.The hotel staff arranged to accomodate us at Drury Inn and Suites. They sent us over by cab .Drury Inn surpassed our expectations. We all loved the rooms so much, that we didn't want to have to move back to our original hotel for our second night. We were a family group of 6, with 2 more set to join us the second day. The staff at Drury worked tirelessly negotiating with our original hotel and Expedia so that we would just be able to stay at Drury Inn and Suites. The young lady at the front desk deserves much praise for her cheerful and pleasant matter when dealing with our request. The breakfast and managers reception was enjoyed by our whole group.
We will certainly be looking for a hotel in this chain the next time we travel.

We arrived just before Mardi Gras yet had no probelm booking this hotel. Though centrally located, It is a good walk from most areas. The trolley stops just a block away which is nice. Take a ride -- and see how close it comes to parked vehicles. Breakfast is always a treat, though Drury San Antonio had a wider variety of choices. And at 5:30pm it looked like guests actually dine on the wings, baked potatoes, hot dogs and the chili provided in lieu of heading out to dinner. Rouses, an attractive grocery, is nearby for quick fill-ins or paninis made to order or practically anything else food-related. The bed, in my opinion, was a bit soft as were the pillows. I wish they had queen-size beds too. The staff is very accommodating and willing to make suggestions for clubs, restaurants or attractions. The Drury is clean and modern and is currently building an addition which should provide more variety of rooms and maybe even a fancier breakfast. Oh, they even arranged for transportation from the airport.

Our partyof 4 stayed at the Drury Inn for 3 nights prior to a recent cruise. We reserved a suite with a King Size bed. We arrived around 6:00 PM. Our room was waiting. I requested a cot for one of our boys. I was informed that there would be a $10 per night charge which I agreed to and was told it would be brought up to our room. It never arrived which is probably just as well because I don't think it would have fit in the room. The living room was very small and when the sofa bed was opened for sleeping, it was almost impossible to walk around it to exit the room.

We had issues with the toilet. It did not flush properly. We reported it one day, not sure if anything was done or not. The next morning the toilet was totally clogged, which was addressed but by the following day it was not flushing properly again.

The first night of our stay, I turned down the bed and found numerous hairs. My husband and I were both quite surprised since the rest of the room was neat and clean. I called the front desk and was told that someone would bring up a clean set of sheets for us but that housekeeping had gone home. Fine, I waited 30-45 minutes and finally my husband went down and picked up the sheets himself. At the same time, the front desk called us and apologized for the delay and for the problem with the bed and said our bill would be adjusted, it was not.

The first night of our stay we were awoken by a loud, most likely very drunk young woman yelling in the parkign lot of the hotel. This went on for quite a while, we could see some one who appeared to work for the hotel, standing out there but I don't think he intervened. We chose this hotel to avoid loud, bothersome behavior, luckily the remaining nights were quiet enough.

We did enjoy the breakfast and the evening snacks and drinks. It is a very nice feature and is a cost saver.

The front desk staff were very, very nice and were able to help us navigate around the city. Everyone we ran into was friendly and curteous; but, I do not think I would stay at this hotel again. The problems with the toilet and hair in the bed are hard to over look.
