My husband and I ate at Jimmy J's twice while in New Orleans this week. Had a wonderful steak salad. The salad greens were fresh and dry, The steak was cooked perfectly. And the house wine was a perfect accompaniment. All for $15.

Wish I found "J"s on our first night. Gurantee in would have been our primary go to restaurant. Looks quaint, clean(considering the age of building), friendly personel. Has any type of food and drink wanted. Good prices! Steps away from major hotels.

Wonderful service, very small and kitschy cafe with great food and very reasonable pricing. If staying at the Marriott, a perfect breakfast alternative to overpriced hotel food.

We happened upon Jimmy J's the first of our 3 nights in NOLA.
The food was delicious, and John, the bartender and server, was entertaining and gracious. We had apricot glazed, grilled pork chops with collard greens and the shrimp/oyster po'boy the first night and grilled eggplant panini and Creole corned beef the second night. $11.00 per meal was attractive, compared to the prices on other restaurant menus, and the food was absolutely delicious! We went to a different restaurant our 3rd night and wished we had gone back to Jimmy J's.

Varied menu from real breakfast stuff to “hair of the dog”. Very morning French Quarter experience, rather dark, small, funky, cluttered, old and fun. Filled with both regulars and first time visiting tourists. Great for people watching.

The food is good but we mainly go for the experience. Service is slow and bounces between attentive and surly.

This isn’t fine dining, it’s a French Quarter experience.
