We went on the Creole Queen for a dinner river cruise in New Orleans...and have nothing good to say about it at all. Food was horrendous, more like slop. We then departed for the cruise just as the sun went down, could not see a bloody thing! Music playing in downstairs dining area was not what you would expect in a city where music is king, very boring and could easily put you to sleep...you would not know you were in the Big Easy unless someone woke you up and told you so. Then above deck whilst sitting in the dark cruising along the river, they had a rolling tape of music playing that was a mixed bag, and again nothing to do with New Orleans, and to top it off all of the speakers that were blaring this variety style music sounded awful as the speakers were cracked and it was very very annoying to say the least. Could not wait to get back to the dock and get off this boat! Would never recommend to anyone unfortunately. We spent $100 for 2 and was definitely the worst choice of our visit to New Orleans. Hopefully someone from that company reads this review and makes some serious changes.

Staff very good, buffet so so, cruise only lasted a hour and a half, not two hours as advertised. Called to voice my frustration and was told that the coast guard makes them return after one and half hours and told there was music and I got a good price. No valid excuse, they just said that's the way it is. The person I spoke to kept interrupting me, very rude. Would not recommend cruise, as you would not get the full cruise. I am giving this cruise a one because I could rate this any lower.

Took this riverboat cruise immediately after checking into hotel. Cruise is roughly 2 hours long and makes a stop at an old battlefield/plantation/cemetery. The boat is clean and very big. If your visiting in the summer time do the morning or evening cruises because the 2PM cruise we did gets very hot. The boat does however have an air conditioned dinning room. Bar and food are available at a reasonable price.

We went on this old riverboat to see more of New Orleans from another view and get some more of the amazing food they've got there, and we weren't disappointed. The food was great, the buffet had a small but good selection and the jazz music created an ambivalence that brought you back in time.

Do remember to wear a thin jacket and pants if you go on the cruise, the dinner hall is chilly. I know, it might be 99% humidity and 100'F outside, but you will feel better with more clothes inside the boat.

We had a really nice time with the music, the tour around the harbor and especially the food. It is a bit pricey, but in my opinion clearly worth every dime.

Oh, and the jazz musicians encourage you to step up and have your picture taken with them and have a small bucket for tips - but they don't make you feel obliged to give it, which just makes it feel like they get really happy for every dollar you put in there.
