My mom and I recently stayed at this hotel prior to a cruise. Some of the hotels in this area are old and struggling to keep up. Marriott has done a great job with this one. The staff in the parking area and the registration area is very friendly, the hotel is clean and modern, and the rooms were comfortable. Our room had two queen beds. The beds were divided by a bathroom so it was like two separate bedrooms. The chandeliers were classy looking and I will definitely recommend this hotel. There is a Starbuck's on site and a couple of nice balconies.
It is just a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street so it is quiet, yet convenient if you want to go walk around and look at the weirdos and drunks on Bourbon. But I did notice that Bourbon Street was a lot racier than before. Girls wearing just about nothing were actively soliciting men on the sidewalks early in the day. I didn't think that area could get any worse, but it seems I was wrong. I would definitely NOT take any children to Bourbon Street nowadays.More
