“No Ordinary "Courtyard"! Great Location, Great Rooms, Great Service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

When I booked my stay at this hotel, I didn't realize it was a Courtyard by Marriott property. When I arrived, I saw the Courtyard by Marriott sign, my heart sank. I thought I was in for a stay in a mediocre room with mediocre service - which is what I expect from an average Courtyard stay. But I'm happy to report that I couldn't have been more wrong! This is by far the nicest Courtyard by Marriott property I've ever seen, and in fact, it's nicer than a lot of regular upscale Marriotts. The rooms are very spacious and nicely furnished. The staff are friendly and very helpful. And to top it off, this hotel is in the French Quarter, just over a block from Bourbon Street, which is just far enough to be away from the crowds, noise and smells of Bourbon Street, but close enough to get there in a heartbeat if you want. An added benefit for anyone who doesn't believe that this Courtyard can possibily be as nice as I'm describing - this hotel is right next door to the Ritz Carlton, and Courtyard guests can make Ritz spa reservations as if they were staying at the Ritz. Each Courtyard room has info about the Ritz spa, and the Courtyard elevators have permanent signs embedded in the elevator to let guests know how to find the Ritz spa. Would you find that in any other Courtyard? I don't think so. If you're a bit of a hotel room snob (as I admit I am), don't overlook this place. You'll be pleasantly surprised by your stay. I certainly was.

The highlight is the separate bedroom for the parents. Kids (12/10) were comfortable on the pull out. Privacy for both. It was modern and clean. Great service. Friendly staff. A Starbucks, a nicely appointed fitness center and access to the pool at the Ritz made this school break trip just perfect.

The rooms are fine. A very small bed room, a small sitting area with TV and a walk in shower, which is excellent. Shares the walls of Ritz Carlton, in the French Quarter area (in the fringe though), short walk away to the Bourbon Street. Breakfast arrangement is bit weary: you step up to their coffee bar that had dis interested staff. You need to pick a few items (there is no buffet and you are only informed of the options at the counter) and the two staff argued back and forth about the eligibility for room guests for certain items - say yoghurt etc. The concierge downstairs was very friendly and helpful. Right behind Canal Street, so not difficult to locate. Rooms are almost alike, with no view except a central courtyard with some vents. ZERO PLANTS there. House keeping is spot on and efficient. Guests were noisy late in to the night, but that is not the hotel's fault :)-

Geat location, and modern rooms with space to move around. Quiet, but so close to Canal St and Bourbon St. Walking distance to anything we needed to go to in the French Quarter. The suite was spacious, with a sectional, tv, and desk. The bedroom was large with a king bed(very comfortable), and A/C controls in the room. The bathroom had a large shower-no tub. The staff were helpful and pleasant.I recommend to stay here if you like the boutique hotel concept.

What a gorgeous hotel! Our room was so contemporary and beautiful and was located in a perfect spot for all the places you want to see in New Orleans. It was very quiet even though it was only a couple blocks from Bourbon Street. It has easy access within walking distance to everywhere we went from the French Quarter to the street car to visit the Garden District. I give it 7 stars out of 5!!! Would definitely stay there again!!

This hotel was great we were at the end of the hall so it was quiet hardly no outside noise and the rooms were big. It's close to all the action without being right on top of it. I would recommend this hotel for business travellers and those that want to get away from the noise. The only down fall its older and dated but very clean. We had no view actually we saw a wall but that was not a problem for us.

The 3 of us girls stayed over St. Patrick’s weekend onto Wednesday. The room was very spacious for 3 of us girls and tastefully decorated; the hotel staffs were also very friendly and helpful. I love the location because it is right in French Quarter and yet far enough away from Bourbon Street that you don’t hear the noises. The fitness center was OK, my girls and I went down for a quick pre-cocktail detox before we retox. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant so I cannot comment on that. There were so many great restaurants a couple of blocks away that we had a time deciding where to go.

I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit New Orleans, highly recommended

Room Tip: no swimming pool, we were a little disappointed but we got over it :) King room has a living area w...
