“City Tour”
Reviewed March 28, 2013 via mobile

The tour bus itself was FREEZING. We were disappointed that the tour only made one stop which made it difficult to capture any photo's. And, the one stop we made was at a park for 15 minutes so you could barely make a "Bio" stop. The driver mentioned how "Great" the bignets were but with 7 tour busses stopping at yhe same time the line was at least 20 minutes long so good luck with that idea. Would not recommend this tour.

“History with Humor”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

We loved that the tour picked up and dropped off at our hotel.
The tour bus was clean and our seats were spacious and comfortable. Bill was our A+ guide. He was most knowledgeable and humorous. We really learned so many facts about the history of New Orleans, saw beautiful sights, learned of great restaurants and top music venues. We are so happy that many places have rebuilt and that the people have returned to happy lives. Truly, the 3 hours whizzed by and it was a most interesting and enjoyable day.

“Great Overview”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

We had a very good guide who talked the whole time and is a life long N.O. resident. It was startling to see the condition of the 9th ward 8 years after Katrina. Good way to get your bearings if you don't know the city. It is the first thing we did.

Showed up on time. Jerry was a very interesting guide with lots of informative and sometimes humorous stories. Comfortable small bus. Reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

“Punchanella takes a Southers Style Tour!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

We were going to be in New Orleans for one day, pre- cruise,in November, so I had been looking for a tour of some type. Southern Style Tours, three hour bus tour of the city popped up as a living socal deal ,so I purchased a few. After only being on the mini bus for 15 minutes, I realized that we had struck gold. Our tour guide, John, was a New Orleans native and able to share intimate details about each site that we visited. The tour was extremely well rounded, giving insight into the past, present and future of this great city. We visited, Jackson Sq., The City Park, Burbon St., several above ground cemetaries and many other points of interest. John pointed out the many houses and buildings still not repaired since Katrina, he also drew our attention to the water lines and the national guard markings on the houses and explained exactly what they meant.
The lower 9th ward, one of the areas that sustained the most damage, is now closed to buses and tour groups, but John made a point of getting us as close as possible without being in violation. One of the highlights for me was his first hand account of he and his wife, who at that time could not swim, leaving the city by wading through chest deep water, and their adventures of living in a FEMA trailer for many months. Once they were able to return to their home, his wife made a point of signing up for swimming lessons! It's little extras like this that I feel make a tour special.
As the tour progressed, we were told of the best places to dine, the best jazz clubs and a lot of other best's that New Orleans has to offer. All guests were readily given discount coupons to just about every attraction there is, as well as $ off coupons to several restaurants just for the asking. As I mentioned at the start of this review, I purchased the tour via living social, and only paid $22.00 per ticket. However, I would have gladly paid the $44.00 per ticket list price, as it was worth every penny and more!
