This property is located right off the French Quarter, within walking distance to the Quarter and Central Business District, streetcar lines, Canal Street and the Riverwalk. The lobby and common areas are clean and beautiful in an Art-Deco style, with lots of art work. The Front Desk Staff went well above board to make our stay enjoyable, providing information about the area and were extremly personable (remembered our names, called the room to see if we had everything, etc). It appears that many rooms are being upgraded. Our room was comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. This is by far, one of the nicest places we have ever stayed.

We stayed here over Mardi Gras 2010 and were happy with the location and proximity to the French Quarter and the legendary Bourbon Street but far enough away to not hear it!
The room was adequate but when we arrived had not been cleaned, stank of smoke, yellow stains on sheet and tissues on the floor. It had no outside window and as we were next to the lift and Ice Machine was noisy when other guests came back in the early hours! After the 1st night the room was cleaned and was much better!

This hotel has one of the best locations you could ask for...within walking distance to just about everything! And if you get tired of walking, the nearby trolly is a great way to get around! The room here was very clean and the employees very pleasant. The only thing I would say was missing was a pool~wouldve been nice in the humidity, but with all of the interesting things to do in New Orleans you may not find the time for it anyway!

This hotel has a very open floor plan and GREAT ventilation. Lots of New Orleans hotels are dry and stuffy. I could actually breathe at night. Staff very friendly, rooms clean and inviting. Only drawback was garage...I own an Expedition...too large for garage...top rails hit ceiling. Will come back in smaller vehicle. Will return later in the month for another stay.

i thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at the Baronne Plaza Hotel. Although i was here on business the hotel was located in a GREAT location, close to major tourist attractions (Bourbon St, Aquarium, Convention Center ect.) The room was spacious and clean. The only issue i had was with the time housekeeping came to clean. I always seemed to have bad timing LOL! All in all the staff was a great help in providing directions and assistanting with transportation needs. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The hotel is great. I especially liked its location which is not even 5 minutes walk from Bourbon Street. The French quarter and most of the museums are also walking distance. The service was great, the staff was friendly. Very clean hotel.

We stayed for a long weekend 7/29 - 8/1 at Baronne Plaza - now called Wyndham Garden. Because it's not actually in the French Qtr it is much quieter than many other nearby places, but being only 1 block from Canal it's an easy walk over there. Also - just one block from stop for St. Charles Streetcar. The lobby and hall decor is art deco and very fresh and new feeling (despite it formerly being a Sears store in the 1930's). Our room (2 dbl beds) was very updated with great beds (Tempurpedic mattress and pillows I think) and flat screen TV on wall. The only drawer space were 2 small drawers under bench area but that was OK for this being just a weekend stay. Bathroom was also recently updated. Breakfast was not included although they do offer a continental breakfast in the lobby but we ate elsewhere. Self parking in the garage was $20 per night.
