Four Points By Sheraton French Quarter
Ranked #57 of 166 Hotels in New Orleans
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 24, 2014

My wife and I recently stayed here during the New Orleans Jazz and heritage festival. Overall the experience was a good one with some highlights and some quirks. Lets start with the highlights. The front desk staff is excellent. Everyone we encountered during our stay were friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and professional. This also included the night security folks. This hotel is located right in the middle of all the fun on Bourbon street, which stays active well past midnight. The hotel facilities keep you insulated from the craziness outside until you are ready to get into the streets. The central location makes this a great jumping off point for your visit to the French Quarter. A 15 min walk will get you to the Mississippi river and so many restaurants that I couldn't begin to list them. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The bedding was great, and the size of the room was fantastic. However here is where we hit some of the quirks. Our room was never what I would call hot, but at the same time, it was almost impossible to get the room cool enough to be comfortable. I kept the setting on the air in the fifties just to attain a room temp into the 70s. The other issue was housekeeping. Each night we would turn on the do not disturb light. And even though it was lit we were woke each morning by housekeeping knocking on our door. Our room was never fully restocked with utilized items, and was never even attended to on our 3rd day. Again though, the front desk folks were helpful in getting fresh towels etc... If you are headed to New Orleans for the party in the Quarter, this is the place to stay.

The staff is friendly, and the hotel is clean. Security is good. The bar is nice. The pool is nice. The rooms are smaller than most. The hotel is older but well maintained. It obviously sees some harder use given its location. You should be aware that you will enter and exit on Bourbon Street. Bourbon Street runs from PG-13 to NC-17 depending on the hour. It faintly smells of spilled beer and vomit. The location might not be appropriate for the sensitive.

Room Tip: If you are willing to pay for a Bourbon Street balcony, you will receive one of America's most u...

we stayed here for 5 nights for my birthday, and asked to be in a room with a balcony on Bourbon and we got it! It was nice after a day of walking to come back and have a beer on the balcony while watching various street performers, or even just people watching. Although if you do have a room on Bourbon be wary of the noise until 3-4am, it can get a little loud, even with windows and doors closed. If this is not for you I would suggest a room facing the pool. The pool is very nice, although not very warm, but works well given the heat and humidity. The room was small but perfect for our needs and warmly decorated with a very NOLA feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful in giving us directions and suggestions. In all a great 5 night stay! we did have a hiccup at the end with billing, it seems we were charged twice, but it was handled within 48 hours.

The hotel was in the perfect location with the best balconies facing Bourbon Street! It was loud at night when we were trying to sleep but that's the whole experience of staying on Bourbon. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and recommended the best restaurants to eat at. The room and bathroom were extremely small but it was fine since you don't spend time much time in it. The balcony was a huge plus to people watch and unwind after a long jazz fest weekend! I would def stay at this hotel again!

Dear Pebb1024,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and let us know about your experience. We certainly agree that we are the best hotel on Bourbon, but it is nice to hear our guests think so too. We look forward to seeing you the next time you are in NOLA.

This hotel is right on Bourbon Street in the middle of the French Quarter. You couldn't find a better location!

We were welcomed by the valet park attendants even though we didn't have a reservation. He encouraged us to go in and check availability and we felt so fortunate to get a room in this lovely hotel. Everyone was very helpful, the rate was fair, the room was recently updated and spacious. The room was also spotlessly clean!

Our experience was terrific - even the breakfast in the hotel tasted great. Highly recommend!

This is a lovely hotel. Recently renovated and just lovely.

Considering it is on the corner of Bourbon and Toulouse, it was the ideal place for us to stay for a friend's first visit to New Orleans. Our room overlooked the courtyard, which has a beautiful pool area, and was well-appointed. It was very peacful - not full of rowdy people that kept us awake at night.

We ended up having dinner in the bar one night because it was pouring rain. The bartender was excellent and was moving to keep up with all the people that were staying out of the rain. A random guy came in and played the piano and it was a real treat.

They have excellent security and do a good job of keeping people who are not guests out of the hotel.

We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Go with a courtyard room to avoid the noise from partiers on Bourbon Street!

What a great location, especially for my 2 23 year old companions who did not have to go far to party.Room was a good size considering you are in the old French Quarter.Service at the front desk was excellent, they upgraded us for free to a balcony room. My daughter insists on me saying how excellent Reva? the security guard at 2 am was at keeping her company while she waited for her cousin.Love the valet parking also, no worries there at all, though pricey. I am always willing to pay for security. Only negative was the dining room where the service was slow and I had to ask for my hot tea 3 times before I got it and seriously...clean the top of your ketchup bottles...ugggho Overall great and as this is my second time here in a year would recommend it to anyone
