“Breakfast, breakfast, breakfast!”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

Don't look in the Quarter for a breakfast place...head to the intersection of Magazine and Common to the Ruby Slipper for one of the best breakfast eateries in town. Take a light wrap because for some reason, they LOVE the cold air blowing out on you. Old-time "cafe" atmosphere with hustle and bustle of a city diner. Breakfast selection is excellent (along with morning cocktail choices of course...after all, you're in The Big Easy!) and prices are very reasonable. Good service, great food, fair prices. They are only open until 2pm so don't wait until high noon to start heading that way!

“Authentic New Orleans Brunch”
Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

Expect to wait up to 30 minutes since they do not take reservations. However, the wait is worth it. It is best to arrive when the restaurant first opens. We ordered a variety of dishes including French toast, omelets
, and eggs and bacon. All dishes were scrumptious. Go for the atmosphere and for the food. You will be glad you did.

“Worth the wait!”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

Everything was amazing! I had a large mimosa with fresh squeezed orange juice and Migas scramble. A colleague's coffee was so tasty that we all had Irish coffees to go.

There will be a long wait when you get there but I promise it's worth it.

“Fantastic breakfast”

We loved Ruby Slipper café. We got the pancakes and omelet. It was a long wait but well worth it. The food was hot and out quickly once you were seated.

“Nearly Great”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We were staying at a hotel in the same block for a long weekend and saw the large numbers of people waiting to eat at this restaurant. We decided to take our chances that the wait on a Monday would be more reasonable. Thankfully, it was. We arrived about 9:30 am and were seated immediately. The server was prompt, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was excellent. Everything was, obviously very fresh, of good quality and quantity and expertly prepared. The only knock was the bus service. While the bus-boy could have easily walked over to pick up my near-empty plate, he stood across the table and hand motioned me to hand it to him. otherwise really good and will go back.
