“Uncompromising greatness”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

Went for lunch. Every item on the menu is tempting; the wine list is wonderfully eclectic and the cocktails are well up to the (very elevated) Nola standards. All the dishes we tried were perfectly executed; my "12 Hour Roast Beef Po'boy with Pickled Red Onions & Horseradish Cream" was unquestionably one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Service is friendly, well informed, and efficient. A must when in Nola. Oh, and do not miss the French fries...

“Don't Let the Exterior Fool You”
Reviewed March 21, 2014 via mobile

This restaurant occupies a quaint cottage a few miles outside of town. It's just a quick cab ride, though, so don't let that keep you from this experience. Make reservations! We were fortunate to only wait an hour to get a table on the porch, which was perfect, but we arrived at 5:40.

We sampled a bit of everything. There is no need for me to go into every dish, because there is nothing there that isn't scrumptious. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the food and also the drink menu. They obviously love the art of food, and they do it well.

We did have a tuna that was their special dish. It was by far the best I have ever had. If they offer you any fresh fish, order it.

This little nugget offers food rivaling and surpassing the big name places in NOLA.

“The best meal I've ever had!”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

OMG! Don't miss this place. It's only a 15 minute drive from the French Quarter and well worth the trip. We had the Crispy Skin Duck Confit Chilaquiles. Wow! The duck is so tender it literally melts in your mouth. We also had the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding...yes, it is as good as you imagine. Very nice place and suprisingly reasonable prices

“Quality local food, Good beer list”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

1st dinner in New Orleans left some huge shoes to fill for the rest of the trip. Great traditional local food with unique twists and very high quality. High quality beer list with the best choices of any other restaurant. Service was perfect with great down to earth descriptions from a friendly and well versed waiter.

“Better than the Most Well-Known”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

We've been to New Orleans many times and have eaten at the most popular and well known restaurants, but this one is overall, considering price and quality (deliciousness), our new favorite. My culinary vocabulary lacks the ability to adequately describe each item, but they were all perfect. Keep in mind that the menu changes every two months, but these were the items we had: hamachi sashimi, collard greens (really, just try them), duck confit for appetizers; ribs, duck, salmon escabeche, and tuna (one of the specials) for entrees. For dessert we had Thai chili chess pie, and Krispy Kreme bread pudding. The wine list is good with several wines by the glass. They have a special cocktail list. We enjoyed the back to the future 3, which is made with sage gin.

Be sure to make reservations. It's small and inside was a little noisy. We waited about an hour and got to sit on the porch, which was very nice. You have to have reservations to sit inside. We really enjoyed talking to everyone there. They are very passionate and knowledgeable about their food. It's about a 15 minute drive from the French Quarter.
