“Always something happening in the Marigny”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

Great neighborhood where we spent a few days at an Air bnb, exploring the shops and coffee cafes; easily getting to downtown NOLA walking or biking or by car. It's an urban neighborhood with remnants of Katrina and lots of good people. After hearing jazz at Snug Harbor on a weekend night, we went across Frenchmen Street to a delightful street fair, selling local arts and crafts. Get away from the silliness on Bourbon Street and enjoy a fun evening in the Marigny.

“Local Hangout Better than Bourbon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2012 via mobile

For a glimpse at the real New Orleans music scene, head to the quiet side of the quarter, cross Esplanade, and see why this is where the locals go.

Snug Harbor, Blue Nile, Checkpoint Charlie, Three Muses, and other clubs offer tremendous music nightly, and the Praline Connection serves fantastic soul food. Well worth the walk!

“I LOVE IT!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

Great part of town just outside of the French Quarter. Visit Cake Cafe for breakfast or lunch, go to Mimi"s in the Marigny Bar for a fun night. Friendly Bar for a nice locals experience. St. Claude has a very popular underground art and music scene

“Nice quiet neighborhood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

Nic!e and quiet and only steps away from the lively Frenchmen Street. This, mostly residential, neighborhood is dotted with cafes, guest houses/B&B's, coffee shops, corner groceries and some of the greatest little neighborhood bars!
