Pierre Coulon Guest House is a quaint, quiet cottage tucked away in a charming neighbourhood only a few blocks from the French Quarter. We stayed here for five nights in November, and especially enjoyed being able to sit in the courtyard jungle under the banana trees. And our hosts -- Rich and Stephen are wonderful. Guests have their own entrance to the yard and the private cottage, but Rich and Stephen are available to answer questions, provide suggestions about where to go and what to see, etc.
A few people warned us about the neighbourhood, but we had no trouble at all, and felt safe walking in the area after dark. The cottage has a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker, and Rich and Stephen provided coffee, tea, and snacks (granola bars, cereal, etc.) which they were kind enough to replenish during our stay. They also provided daily light housekeeping, and a plethora of books and NOLA tourism literature.
We rented as a couple, but it would be fun to stay here with friends, as there is a second bedroom that can be opened up to accommodate additional guests. This is not a luxury accommodation, but it IS reasonably priced, spacious and comfortable, with eclectic décor and fabulous hosts. Overall, a great base for your NOLA explorations. We would stay here again.
