Stopped by for lunch. Ate at the bar.

Pizza was very average. Was half-off for happy hour.

Cauliflower was inventive and good, but I felt for $18, was a little mispriced.

Staff was just ok...seemed a lot of active interest in 'after work' activities. Not on working that hard.

We had a wonderful meal last night at Domenica. The restaurant was packed when we arrived without a reservation, so we ate at the bar. We ordered a small plate of the garganelli pasta and the cotechino pizza with anchovies added. The pasta was delicious and the small order was a perfect portion to split alongside the pizza.
The waitress asked if we wanted white or brown anchovies on our pizza. Not knowing the difference, we ordered white. The anchovies we special ordered ended up taking over the entire pizza in flavor. Our waitress sensed we were not completely loving the pizza and kept asking if we wanted another pizza. We replied we didn't need another pizza. She went ahead and cooked a fresh one for us anyway with less anchovies, and, this time, the brown, milder in flavor anchovies.
The pizza was delicious and we really appreciated the attention and service the waitress provided. We will definitely eat here again when in New Orleans.

Lots to recommend about this restaurant. Great food, great location, late seating for dinner. Its always hopping with a crowd of folks having a great time. Try the squid ink tagliolini (SP?). Its a place that just feels good and makes you feel comfortable. Its a little loud which is a function of the decor and design I think but not overly so. If you want quiet, cruise around the corner inside the Roosevelt to the Sazerac Restaurant, which is good also.

In my opinion, the pizza served here is better than any I had in Rome, Florence, Naples or Pisa. That is not to say all of their pizzas were authentic because some weren't.

We were not hungry so we ordered pizza and an appetizer for the table. The pizza was a Margarita pizza and was authentic. It was the best pizza I have eaten. It is obviously from a fired brick oven where it was browned on the edges. The crust was thin but not too thin. The crust was perfectly cooked and good no matter if it was in the middle or edge. The sauce tasted fresh and was not heavily spiced. The cheese was well distributed and in the right proportion.

The restaurant allows you to bring a bottle of wine with you. We did and was charged a modest corking fee.

Service was good. Our reservation was early and the service was quick so they could turn the table.
