“Best pizza outside Napoli”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

Yes, half price items from 3 - 6 pm, what a deal. We have a great upscale pizza restaurant (boutique pizza?) in Cincinnati, A Tavola, with an oven imported from Napoli that tastes almost as wonderful. Interesting and creative.

“Excellent Meal, Watch for Nose Hairs in Your Drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2013

A reservation at the Domenica was difficult, but you can eat at the bar based on a first come first served basis. Since we opted to eat at the bar, we were able to sit immediately, which I base on luck. We sat at the end where the drinks are prepared by the restaurant bartender, who did an excellent job, but the manager with the shaved head, and wrapped arm was acting as the Drink Cop. At one point the manager poured from one wine glass into the next to even out the serve, versus pouring a little extra from the bottle But what did me in was the manager practically stuck his nose in someone's drink to determine how much alcohol was being served, as it had a clear mix with clear alcohol. Luckily we were leaving as this occurred, as I didn't know if I could stomach much more of this guy's behavior. The food was excellent.

“Would definitely go back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Domenica is located next door to the beautifully-restored Roosevelt Hotel which is worth a visit just to see the lobby. My husband and I enjoyed everything we tried there. I had a risotto with blood sausage which was delicious and inventive and I had a short rib served with beans and vegetables. It was a little heavy on the salt and fennel flavors but so tender it just fell apart. The atmosphere is casual but beautiful and I would definitely visit again.

“Incredible Pizza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Good pastas and main courses as well, but that pizza, yummy! Domenica is a large modern space located inside a gorgeous Grand Dame hotel, the Roosevelt. It's 2 blocks from the French Quarter and a delicious, fun destination.

“Pizza and Happy Hour, cant go wrong”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in for their daily happy hour which is half off beer, wine, pizza, and well drinks until 6pm. One of the guests in our party is an up and coming food critic and wanted to stop here for the pizza since it has been getting some good press. We ordered a Duck Breast pizza with Sweet Potatos and a Pork Suasage pizza. They are about the size of a large dinner plate and are thin crust, 2 pizzas fed three of us with a couple of pieces left over. The Duck pizza was a white pizza and was very good, the duck breast was ample and very moist, it was my favorite. The other two at the table favored the pork sausage pizza which was also very good. It had a red sauce with fresh cherry tomatoes and a few yellow plum tomatoes as well. The crust is an underlying star in these pizzas, it is thin but is moist and chewy rather than brittle and crispy. Very good crust.

They only have bottle beer but they did have some interseting selections, the server said they change them frequently. My wife had an oaked Chardonnay that she really enjoyed. The ambience is modern and the hotel it is connected to is very elegant, worth walkingthrough the lobby to see. We will be back.
