Many generations of New Orleanians have shared wonderful memories within the walls of this beautiful venue. Galvez is committed to honoring those wonderful memories, and to creating many more to come. We are the French Quarter's best Riverfront dining venue featuring continental Spanish, French, and Creole cuisine with an outstanding array of mouth-watering tapas. Looking for the perfect accompaniment for your meal? Our full service bar boasts a complete array of specialty cocktails, most notably Chef Laura's Home Made Sangria. And did we mention that we have the prettiest dining room in the city? The Casa Roja overlooks the beautiful, moon lit Mississippi River. Our lover's corner, a lush and quiet corner with access to a small private balcony, is a perfect spot for anniversaries, romantic dinner dates, and wedding proposals. In essence, Galvez is the perfect choice for a romantic dinner for two, a relaxing brunch, or sharing a table full of tapas, family-style.

“Great views, great food and friendly hosts”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 25, 2013

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at Galvez. Our table overlooked the river for a fantastic view. The party next to us were boaters and we had some wonderful conversations watching the boat traffic. There was an option for a Reveillon Christmas dinner and it was fantastic - four delicious courses. The high point was a delicious paella. The hostess/owner Diana could not have been nicer and more welcoming. A truly wonderful evening.

“Magical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2013

There is no other dining room in New Orleans with such a magical view of the river, the mists rising, the bridge lit up, the boats gliding by AND the food is 4-star. Start with a bowl of heated olives with your martini and enjoy the quiet away from the bustle on the streets below. The staff was unobtrusive yet caring. I couldn't praise the experience more highly.

“Beautiful views, Delicious food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

My husband and I have been wanting to try Galvez for some time. With out of town guests coming, it was the perfect opportunity. We were seated by the large windows overlooking the Mississippi River and watched the traffic on the river while a full moon was rising...so beautiful and unmatched anywhere in N.O. I decided on the chef special 3 courses for $35. First course was a chicken and chorizo sausage gumbo...wow, intense delicious flavors. Second course was a grilled porkchop in a fig reduction with grilled veggies. The pork was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The veggies added the little extra to make it truly memorable. A bread pudding dessert top the wonderful meal. My husband had the View Carre fish which was polenta topped with a crab cake, topped with sheepshead fish topped with shrimp, topped with a crawfish sauce. Surprising, the dish was light and all the tastes blended together for a tantalizing treat for your taste buds. Service was a bit slow but attentive, as we enjoyed the company of our friends. The prices were moderate and I would highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for something different.

“Romantic Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2013

We had a very romantic dinner at this hidden gem. The restaurant features tapas and Ecuadorian food and serves the best sangria I've ever tasted. Try to reserve the only booth that overlooks the Mississippi River for a remarkable romantic dinner. The staff here are very friendly and the food is exquisite. A definite MUST TRY while in NOLA.

It is on the river so a little hidden gem out of the way. Amazing views and truly spectacular food! The tapas were fantastic and our dinner was the best we had in NOLA.
