Owner description: The partying never stops on Bourbon Street, the French Quarter's liveliest and wildest thoroughfare, where the rhythmic sounds of jazz, country western, Dixieland and sultry blues permeate the air. Brimming with life, you'll find everything from shopping to music to Cajun food to nightclubs.

The street was filthy and the smell of vomit and alcohol reminded me of the worst days of Times Square in NYC before it got cleaned up. Lots of drunks, too, even in the day time. Not a pleasant experience. Would avoid if possible. I liked Royal Street much better.

Crazy nightlife and just as entertaining in the day. We traveled with friends for an Adult event and took part in the Red Run an annual charity fundraiser. Between downtime from our event we had the opportunity to travel the renowned strip. We were absolutely amazed by the amount of garbage and broken bottles we saw along the curb but we were equally amazed at the army of workers continuously cleaning they do an amazing job!

There was an amazing mix of music something for everyone swamp rock, jazz, blues and some performers were better than others but all were giving it their all to entertain the crowds gathering in the local watering holes.

The daily & nightly bead tossing was highly entertaining although some of the balconies looked like they were straining under the loads of people, if you’re participating in the bead toss no need to buy them at home at the dollar store you can get all you want cheap nearby and on the Street.

Our only complaint was the shooter scam where the our two girls got their shooters it’s a shared event between you and the shooter girl but when it was the guys turn it was a quick slight of the covered hand and 4 shooters are now down your throat, didn’t mind the booze but 2 was fine and of course your now paying the money for 4 vs. 2 not too big of a deal just something to be aware of.

Street smell not to bad yes the smell of sewer wafts thru the air every once and awhile but so does the smell of urine and booze, nothing major during the time we were there but have read that it can be real nasty.

We likened Bourbon Street to Vegas on Steroids this is not a kid friendly environment but yet we saw many being dragged around by their parents, Anyway there is something for everyone from adult entertainment and stores to shopping, eating and of course the music. If you have never been it is well worth the adventure!

Best drinking experience ever. We went during Wrestlemania week and I've never experienced an atmosphere anywhere near as close to it.

Bourbon street is longer and much more than expected.
The weekend we stayed in NOLA there was this red runners event, some fundraiser, and the street was absolutely crazy and full of people in red cloth drinking and having a good time.
Spend one night in Bourbon street, then move on to other parts of NOLA:)

Only reason I walked Bourbon Street was to be able to say I have done it and I gotta say I will not be doing it again. Bourbon Street is stinky, dirty, and full of street trash and hustlers!!! We were even approached by someone today and was not even on Bourbon Street. Too many people here that think its easier to hustle people and try to take their money than to get a real job!!! I do not care to visit here again!
