Owner description: The partying never stops on Bourbon Street, the French Quarter's liveliest and wildest thoroughfare, where the rhythmic sounds of jazz, country western, Dixieland and sultry blues permeate the air. Brimming with life, you'll find everything from shopping to music to Cajun food to nightclubs.

You never know what you'll see. I WOULD NOT recommend taking children here (day or night). This trip we saw a naked bicyclist parade! Priceless! Don't miss MyBar 365 ...LC Smoove is a phenomenal sax player and you will find yourself captivated with the good times here! Hint: always ask if the upstairs is open as they do 3 for 1 drink specials up there!

“The older I get, the less I enjoy Bourbon Street”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

I first saw Bourbon Street as a 17 year old kid, and was enthralled by the sounds and colors and the excitement! Now, 49 years later, the thrill is gone. I walk through Bourbon Street now only to get to another destination. It appears the fun is no longer there, not just for me, but for the others there also. The hustle is continuously "on" and those who aren't hustling are on the defensive, wary of being taken advantage of. Further, the place literally stinks. It appears populated by the unbathed and unprincipled. It needs flushed out and aired out. Would never consider taking my grandchildren on this street, even during daytime.

“Party 24/7”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

First time in New Orleans. Stayed at the Hyatt which is within walking distance to Bourbon Street. Very nice hotel. I had really good food in various restaurants, but in my opinion, "Bourbon Street" is sleezy, dirty and very crowded. This is definitely not a place to bring your children. Saw a few women expose their breasts for a .25 string of beads. Pathetic! This wasn't even during Mardis Gras.Even during the day the nude bars try to lure you in. There were 2 drunks passed out on the sidewalk sleeping. Lot of pick-pockets around. There are many souvenier stores consisting mostly of the same junk. Would not go back.

“Took a stroll everynight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

Cleaner during week nights and during the day. Very crowded on weekend nights and into the morning. Enjoyed the dueling pianos at "Spirits" bar, and candlelit piano bar at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop towards the end.. Good music everywhere and interesting characters trying to make a buck. My husband hated the street smell but got used to it.

“Yuck!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013 via mobile

Here for the first time and I am NOT impressed. It smells like trash and sewer. I was told by more than one shopkeeper to beware pick-pockets, guys that rob you when you go to tip street performers, and people that rob you near the ATM machine. I am not coming back here.
