Owner description: The partying never stops on Bourbon Street, the French Quarter's liveliest and wildest thoroughfare, where the rhythmic sounds of jazz, country western, Dixieland and sultry blues permeate the air. Brimming with life, you'll find everything from shopping to music to Cajun food to nightclubs.

“little jazz...”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

The street is all loud rock and roll clubs that cater, as expected, to adults not behaving as adults. We were there on Halloween which made it somewhat interesting. The famous little Fritzel Jazz Bar is still there, fortunately.

“One of a Kind...”

Bourbon street, Bourbon Street, Bourbon Street, what can one say?
A must do for adults to see, hear and "smell" the uniqueness of this famous street. Allow yourself 20 minutes of walking to fully appreciate the overwhelming attack on the senses.

We've tried walking the street at different times of the day. Our most favorite is the early morning when they have done a thorough cleaning down of the street. Late afternoon and evening is full of drunken debauchery. This past visit, for some reason, there were lots of middle aged drunk people. Interesting people watching.

I'll take Royal Street over Bourbon any day of the week.

“Adults Quarter”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

It would be a waste of time to sugar coat it. Bourbon St is the adults street of the French Quarter. It is bars, it is restaurants, it is sight seeing, it is dancing, it is music, it is sex, it is laughter, it is what it is.

You can find anything and everything, and even if you aren't looking what you wanted and didnt know you wanted will find you. Basically, the silly commercials while very silly are very true, you become your true self.

If you don't like to live it up as an adult, then stay away. Adults have sex, adults laugh, adults eat amazing food, they drink, they dance, they move to the music....

They call the Strip and Vegas Sin City, but those are sins you have to pay to pretend you are about. Bourbon street, you simply live without inhibitions, who you really are.
