We went to Audobon Park in June. It was hot and humid. We walked around for awhile, stopped and got a sno-ball from a food truck and wandered around and found the Tree of Life. It is a really impressive liveoak off by itself. The park says it was planted in approximately 1740 and boy has it grown. The park has some other activities, including a zoo, and the houses backing up to the park are very impressive as well. It does fall short of City Park which seems to have a lot more to do, though, so, all things being equal, given the choice I would probably end up at City Park rather than Audobon.

The live Oaks in this park are Magnificient. You must see them. The park is a great place to stroll or just sit under the canopy of a live oak and imagine the history of New Orleans and how many years these trees have been in the park. Lovely!

Stopped here after doing the St. Charles Street Trolley ride. Very nice park with a good road trail around the park. Much busier on the Magazine St. side of the park. If you like quite natural settings this is a good place to go to. Just a short distance from the Garden District. Oak Tree Alley on the Magazine St. side of Park is very picturesque.

The flowers were all in bloom. Beautiful colors and all kinds of plants. My favorite spot was the Meditation Garden. The soft music, porch swing and water feature was great.

We got on a trolley in order to get out of the party zone for a little while. Audubon Park was quiet, beautiful, clean, and easy to walk through. We did not stay away fromm the madness for too long, but this park was a nice break and the trolleys are inexpensive and easy to figure out.
