“Bird Island is not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

This is a gorgeous little gem in the Uptown Neighborhood of New Orleans. If you take the streetcar from the French Quarter (St. Charles line), you'll want to get off right in front of Tulane University. The park is directly across the street. Walk among the oaks and meander your way to the bandstand. See the birds of bird island--you'll never see anything like it! It won't take all day, it's entirely free of charge, and you'll feel as though you've been transported to an other-worldly location!

“Breathing in the scents and loving the views of Bird Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

I like to walk around the park, every day, if possible. The live oaks always move me.
I've also enjoyed eating at the restaurant in the park.

“huge, tranquil, relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

This surprisingly huge park in the middle of the city sits on a St. Charles streetcar stop across the street from Tulane, in a pretty upscale neighborhood. I'm not a runner or a dog owner, but if I were either of those things, this is where I would go, and it's very popular for both of those things. It has paved paths, gorgeous scenery, and enough people that you're never in a crowd, but never out of sight.

“A jewel in the Garden District!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

One of the most beautiful parks I have ever strolled though! It is a great way to get away from the bustle of Boubon Street and enjoy nature! We entered the park at a stop on our St. Charles street car ride and meandered through the park to get to the Audubon Zoo.

“Lovely break from the hussle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

You can walk by the Mississippi, the trees covered in spanish moss are right out of a novel and at one point you can see the giraffes from the zoo. This is a beautiful way to spend a few hours wandering.
