This must be one of the largest, most beautiful city parks in the country. Giants oaks tower over the green lawns, ducks of every type paddle by locals who sit on benches and lawns just to take it all in. It's really something special.

We walked from the top of the park at the St. Charles Street Car to the bottom, at Magazine Street to have lunch at the Audubon Clubhouse Cafe. The view was beautiful and threes were lovely.

Did I say Zoo....yes, one of the best zoos in the South and maybe the country. Audubon Park (same name as Audubon Zoo) is directly across the street and is a beautiful setting. Take a leisurely walk through the park to historic St. Charles Ave. where you can also visit Tulane University and next door is Loyola University. This is also a great place for children to burn off some of their pent up energy.

Simply put, if you want a place to relax go here! Went with my buddies, and we brought some beers with us, threw the football around until the sun went down. Great view of the Mississippi River too.

Whether walking or running the loops, feeding the teals, wood ducks, geese and whistlers, chilling on the fly along the riverfront, or playing the short but challenging golf course, Audubon is a must. Breezy, shady, and full of local characters that aren't trying to shake you down. Perfect for when you need a break from the mayhem of the quarter.
