our first time eating at Patois and it certainly won't be our last. locally sourced ingredients and a creative chef made for a wonderful meal the specials were special indeed and the service was as good as it gets, especially liked the informality of the place. Cuisine is more like a new Creole with a subdued country French twist, but very well prepared. Excellent value to boot - so the cab ride out there isn't a premium.

Excellent food with a beautiful twist to the standard fare of New Orleans (and I don't mean anything negative by the use of the word 'standard' here). The food is locally sourced and prepared to take advantage of their fresh tastes. Well worth the taxi ride out to the Garden District if you are staying off Canal.

We came here for Sunday brunch, and the whole experience was delightful. The place is charming, the wait staff cordial and efficient, and the food excellent. Would love to come back for dinner some day.

Patois is located in uptown New Orleans, at Laurel and Webster. It's in a neighborhood famed for its local culinary skills. Patois is a good addition to New Orleans' restaurant lore. We ate a Sunday brunch here. We arrived at the height of the noise level, and as other patrons left we enjoyed the restaurant's quiet charm. I ordered Pulled Pork and Biscuits off the brunch entrees; my wife ordered Shrimp and Grits, and had the better dish. The Pork and Biscuits were like a Southern rendition of Eggs Benedict. They were delightful but the sauce used (sherry vinegar garlic butter) on the shrimp made me pea green with envy at the better choice. Our table of seven were pleased with the dishes. We had bloody marys and mimosas to start, and coffee to finish. Our wait staff was a little on the ragged side. They looked either worn out from Jazz Fest or just ready to leave. They were attentive but not friendly. I rate Patois as a very good stop.
