“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

The hotel was in a great location in the French Qtr of New Orleans. Parking was expensive but I guess that was to be expected. We had a balcony room but no small chairs were provided. The hotel across from us had small plastic chairs and could sit outside, all we could do is stand. The bed was nice and linens great. Could have used a mini bar . Bathroom was small and no room for any "stuff" like razors, make-up, brushes etc.--shelving would have been nice.
All in all, I would stay there again--minus the rental car-and recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Take the hotel shuttle from airport and rent a car when you ck out. Don't waste $ on balcony ro...

Stayed two nights at the Hotel Le Marais in March this year.......the location is TERRIFIC!!!!! It's far enough off Bourbon Street to forget about that nightly craziness and noise, yet very close to all things New Orleans. The hotel room we had was somewhat small. We found it hard to find a place for two large pieces of luggage filled with clothes, meaning, you don't want to take everything out of the bags to have more room. Having said that, the room was very comfortable as if you are a tourist, you really aren't in the room very much!!! The bed was heaven.....no problems with getting a wonderful sleep!
The bathroom was a touch too small although nicely updated. It was kind of "open the door, squeeze by, close the door etc.
The front desk staff were just okay......not overly friendly. The valet people were very accomodating and helpful. The bartender in the lounge area was a bit "standoffish" but maybe that was because we were using our free drink coupon and asked him to take our picture. The free breakfast was a wonderful option. Hot and cold items and a variety of beverages.
All in all, I really did think the hotel was above average mostly due to the location and free breakfast.

Rooms are not large by American standards and the old balcony doors are really original. However, the rooms have been thoroughly updated and have have marble and granite galore. Beds are very comfortable and everything is very clean. The free drink tickets, free wireless and free breakfast make this hotel a pretty good deal with a great location. Very nice courtyard with salt water pool and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Room Tip: Courtyard much quieter than street side

A wonderful stay and escape from the chaos that is bourbon street! Only half a block from the main party, but once inside (even at the pool in the courtyard) your in a whole new and serene place. We loved being out and about late at night, but when you get to your room/hotel, its nice to know you can get away from it all too. We stayed for 5 nights and had a room facing the courtyard. It was quiet, clean, and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed coming back for a break, ordering a cocktail from the bar, and hanging out at the pool. The staff were all wonderful and helpful. Of course the drink coupons, bottled water, breakfast, and wifi make it all icing on the cake. Excellent price too for such a comfy stay!

I was attending a conference in New Orleans. Unfortunately, I did not make reservations in time for the host hotel and had to go looking for another hotel nearby. This hotel came up with great reviews. The front staff was friendly and efficient. The room had a modern minimalistic flare that I liked. I had colleagues come over who were staying at the host hotel (at a "reduced" price) that said my room was quite a bit bigger than theirs. My king bed had a multitude of pillows with varying levels of firmness. I like my pillows soft, and one fit perfectly.

Breakfast was minimal. Continental breakfast. Not impressive, but filing.

Security was good. You can't go up in the elevator w/out a room key. After a certain time, you can't get into the hotel lobby without room key.

Location was great. Short walk to a lot or restaurants.

Room Tip: My room was right next to the ice machine, it did not prove to be a problem.

Great location. Just far enough off Bourbon not to hear noise. Very clean though the rooms are a bit small.
Very cool shower. Very nice to have breakfast included, and a ticket for a drink from the bar. Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful in finding places to eat, etc.

Room Tip: ask for a courtyard room, they are quieter

I love this hotel, for so many reasons. First, it's right in the French Quarter. If you are so inclined it's just one street off of Bourbon, and if you, like me, avoid Bourbon for its famous stench and other reasons, you can spend your whole time in the Quarter at Le Marais in relative quiet and beauty, but be right in the big fat middle of it all. Also, the salt water pool is LOVELY year 'round. And the staff is SO SO SO nice and exactly cool enough. The sheets on the bed are soft and cotton, the bathrooms are very nice and clean, and the bacon in the mornings is crispy and thin, just like I like it. I would wish for better, hotter coffee available earlier, but other than that...it's practically perfect in every way. And when I forgot some very important documents, they were FED-EXed to me immediately and arrived within 24 hours.
