We stayed at Le Marais for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon in April 2012. It was in a fantastic spot - a stones throw from Bourbon St, but much, much quieter, which is what we were after in a hotel.
The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was quite good given it was complimentary, but our favourite part of the hotel was the Courtyard - it was a place of serenity in so much hustle and bustle! A good selection of beers were available (including local seasonal brews), and the pool was a lovely relief from the warm weather.
Staff were helpful and had some great tips on where to see real Jazz (recommended Frenchmen St, which was great!). They were also very supportive when a tour we booked (online, not through the hotel) failed to collect us, and did all they could to ensure we were collected for a new tour. It was lovely to see them go above and beyond considering they weren't making any commission, and was greatly appreciated.
Overall, we would recommend Le Marais to anyone wanting a bit of peace and quiet, yet still in the midst of the action.More
