Le Marais is a cool funky hotel with comfortable rooms and a lovely courtyard, with small pool where you can chill and also sit and eat the perfectly adequate breakfast. There is no restaurant for other meals but this wasn't a problem as there are loads of places to eat in the French Quarter outside the front door. The bar manager also let me get a pizza delivered to the bar to watch England loose a football match !!
The staff were quite superb, Kristina was the best I have ever known at a reception desk and Pierre was also very helpful. They helped me get tickets for local baseball match and also any tours that you needed. The Katrina tour was very worthwhile as was the swamp ride.
The location is excellent, right near Bourbon Street and an easy walk down to the river.
Great place, would happily return.

Room Tip: Book a large double bed overlooking the courtyard.

This hotel was great! Very close proximity to Bourbon Street (less than five minute walk), but without the noise. Its entrance is on the side of a street rather than in front facing the main road, so be on the lookout. New facility with a nice lobby and heated pool. Our room looked out onto a quiet courtyard. Complimentary breakfast with eggs, muffins, cereal, yogurt, milk and coffee. There was limited seating to eat, but it was still great. There is also a bar, and we got complimentary drink coupons when we stayed there. The only downside is that parking is difficult since the area around the hotel is limited, so we parked our car in an overnight garage near Bourbon Street.

We were visiting New Orleans to check out the area before relocating there. Originally we planned to stay in the suburbs (where we were looking for houses), but decided to stay int he French Quarter to get the "real" New Orleans experience. Hotel Le Marais was not only budget-friendly, but it was super nice! Very clean and the beds are very comfy! It's more than I expected.

It's right in the French Quarter without being in the middle of all the crazy nightlife. Close enough to walk to Bourbon Street, yet far enough to enjoy a good quiet night's sleep. We walked to the cathedral, the river front and beyond. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and the complimentary welcome cocktail is a nice touch. Also love the complimentary WiFi. Bonus -- the pool courtyard makes for a cool evening hangout. It was pretty quiet on a Sunday night in May so we had the pool area to ourselves.

This is now our go-to hotel for the French Quarter. Clean, classy and budget-friendly boutique hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in an accessible room and the walk-in shower is nice and roomy.

Can't say enough about this hotel. My husband and I booked this hotel a few times when it was the St. Ann/Marie Antoinette. The hotel had great character with New Orleans charm. The courtyard and adjacent bar were quaint. We absolutely loved it! It has since been modernized. We stayed there once since it's revitalization. Love the new modern look. Bar and courtyard are still wonderful places to hang out with friends. I forgot to mention that the courtyard has a swimming pool. It's great on hot summer days and nights.

Pros - conveniently located between Bourbon Street and Royal Street and only a few blocks from Canal St. Located near many restaurants. Very Modern!!
Cons - rooms are pricey!

A small gem of a hotel. Close to everything yet on a quiet street. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. By the end of our three night stay we were on a first name basis with everyone. Rooms were clean. The AC was powerful [an important factor during the summer] The breakfast included bacon and sausage. Will definitely return!
