First time to stay at Hotel Storyville but not our last . Barbara was very friendly and helpful with info about the area. Our room was clean and nicely appointed. You must have an afternoon cocktail on the balcony and watch the real New Orleans walk and ride by!

Hotel Storyville was everything that we needed it to be. It was super clean, the air conditioning was great, and the bed was comfortable. Our room came with a kitchenette, which had all of the kitchen utensils, cups, pans, knives, etc. that you need - so we were able to save money and cook for ourselves! And there was a lovely kitchen table as well for eating. Totally spacious - you didn't feel cramped and it was nicely sectioned off from the bed area. The room service was minimal, but that was ok by us - and we had spare towels anyway. And it was a 5 minute beautiful walk from the French Quarter and from Frenchman Street - just where you want to be. Quiet, a little removed, and yet right there. Barbara is fantastic - she is welcoming, friendly and always available on her cell phone. And the price was perfect for travelers on a budget. Definitely will be coming back here if we ever travel to New Orleans again!

Hotel Storyville is an awesome place to stay. I am from the Caribbean and this place has the feel of being in the caribbean. The colors are warm and inviting and the rooms are fresh and clean. My mom was visiting from Boston where she lives, but last year we went to Honduras for a month. New Orleans reminded her so much of being in La Ceiba and being in the backyard at this wonderful hotel brought back her trip to Roatan. Barbara, the owner was very welcoming and inviting that my mom said she felt right at home there.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the kitchen and living room if you plan on staying long. All The rooms are ver...

We spent a week here using a time share exchange so it was a great value compared to paying per night. Our family, four of us, had a two bedroom, one bath, and kitchen. There is a small eating area and living room with a pull out couch. There is parking on the street out front and small parking lot in the back. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the French Quarter, Treme, and Louis Armstrong Park. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance. This area feels more local than tourist like the heart of the French Quarter. I wish we would have brought bikes to use instead of walking but with small kids we were better off walking or driving. Parking is free in the Quarter after 6:00. We were given passes for a free walking tour, which used, and saved $100. I recommend the haunted French Quarter tour. The only downside was the kitchen didn't have a regular oven, only a counter top one. The hotel has a lot of charm and I would stay here again. I'm just not sure if the noises at night were the people upstairs or ghosts. Hmmmmmm.

If you are coming to Nola, you will miss a true Big Easy experience if you choose a sterile Chain Hotel and skip the Hotel Storyville. We just finished a week's stay at this 9-room gem -- our second this year. Owner Barbara has a gift for hospitality and is a gracious and personal host , right down to giving us a ride to a local restaurant when one of us had a bad knee. At the same time she gives you plenty of personal space as well as clean, quiet, colorful and comfortable accommodations that basically amount to suite, complete with a fully functioning kitchen. The result is a fantastic stay at a fair and reasonable price. Don't miss a quiet time in the backyard garden and enjoy the easy and safe walk from the Quarter and take in the Nola architecture. Not enough stars on the chart to convey how cool this place is.

Room Tip: Book early, because the secret is out and the inn fills up often and early. We like a room overlooki...

I spent upwards of six weeks staying at the Storyville , covering the period of the French Quarter and Jazz and Heritage festivals, and absolutely loved the experience. Miss B is a great host, she is only too happy to help with any problem that may arise, like lugging parcels to the general post office, and also throws a good party.
The rooms are colourful and clean, and offer everything needed to make your stay pleasant, from good water pressure, in the bathroom, to a well stocked kitchen, for self catering
The hotel is only a five minute walk along Esplanade Avenue to all the French Quarter and Frenchman Street has to offer, and some of the homes on the Esplanade are not to be missed.
If you are staying here for the Jazz fest, the bus service to the Fair Grounds/ Racetrack goes past the front door. There is a mini mart just a block away and the neighbourhood bar, Buffas, serves great food and has an interesting local clientele.
I enjoyed my stay so much I am already planning to return next year.

My Hubby and I recently stayed at this beautiful and warm property on our recent 1 week visit to NOLA.

We had a lovely and comforting 1 1/2 bedroom unit on the first floor. The decor was very crisp and Caribbean inspired. The fully stocked kitchen was a major plus for storing beverages and keeping ice. Loved being able to see the 2nd line pass the front of the house from the second floor balcony rockers.

The peaceful and quiet nights sleep left us ready to go the next day.

The outside was also very lovely and peaceful, it was so nice to sit out there in the evening and have a few beverages and some good conversation ! The pond and statues, beautiful palm trees and sitting lounge were lovely.

I have to tell you that my husband and I travel extensively in and out of the country and this was right at the top of our list. It was a true and pure New Orleans experience.

Barbara ( The owner ) was in a word AMAZING ! I really felt like I was visiting with an old dear friend. From the welcome bag and personal greeting upon arrival to the warm hugs at departure we could not have asked for a better time.

Barbara was everything one could expect from a host and more. She even took care of her guests above and beyond the call of duty.

Dear "new" friend Barbara, I hope to see you in Tampa SOON ! Hi to Glynn as well who shared his love of NOLA and all things green and plush with us.

Thank you for everything. We will be back.

Room Tip: 1st floor was nice for running in and out of the property or if you are nursing a healing ankle.
