We returned from a trip in January and couldn't have been more pleased. The location was excellent and the level of service is consistent with what I expect from a Ritz property. Must check out the spa, as it is truly excellent.

Room Tip: Book early, there are great rates to be had

I just returned from a business trip to NOLA and spent 5 days at the Ritz Carlton.I have stayed in many other hotels in the city and this by far was the best.
It is well located and the rooms are clean and spacious with all of the luxury and qualities that RC is known for.
Food at the hotel was better than the restaurant and the bar scene was quite lively and a nice place to chill after a days work.
Only complaint is that the Spa staff was not helpful and facilities on mens side were not up to RC standards.
Steam room had dirty towels and a number of unfinished drinking cups on the benches and had a poor odor.floor seemed dirty and facility not well managed or monitored.whenI
I went for one short visit but would not return or recommend. informed the staff about this I was told that there was a new man on the job.Sorry sir.
Location is great as hotel is 2 blocks from the action on Bourbon street and a short walk to the best restaurants in the city.

Fabulous hotel on Canal near main arteries of public transportation. Lovely large rooms with everything you need ( except coffee maker, which our bellman Matt brought up a short time after we checked in) elegant furnishings, lovely artifacts adorn all the public rooms of the hotel.
The ONLY negative is that a large number of people were trying to check in about 3:00-4:30 and the rooms were not ready. We had to wait an hour and a half to get into our rooms. Our rooms were quiet and had a great view. Since we were there from Sunday-Wed. the revelers were elsewhere. Luxurious hotel......at luxury price, but you certainly get your money's worth.

Room Tip: We were on the tenth floor on an inside corridor with view of the River. quiet and scenic.

Just completed a conference at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. The rooms are wonderful, comfortable, clean, efficient. Located close to Bourbon Street. With the exception of my waiter the last morning in the hotel restaurant (and he wasn't that bad, just not as good as every other staff member with which I interacted), staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I did stay on the 8th floor with a view of a brick wall, but heard from other conference goers that having a room that faced Canal meant too much noise to get any sleep. Only negative I can say is there are no coffee makers in the room, so you can't make tea at night or have a cup of coffee while getting dressed.

The conference was held in the hotel and banquet services were wonderful - great food and service there as well.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms that face Canal if you enjoy sleep.

Even the maid, when met coming out of our room, knew our name (this happened twice). The reception for our program attendees -- they had gluten free pasta!! It's what you would expect for these prices, but at the Ritz you actually get it. Everyone went out of his and her way to please and that was nice.
Con. Like every other hotel, revelers coming down the hall at all hours could be clearly heard, as well as the people next door who arrived after 11 pm and decided to watch tv and take showers. No walls thick enough I guess.

Room Tip: See if you can get a floor all to yourself.

There are many fine hotels in New Orleans and this is certainly one of them. Expensive, yes but you get what you pay for and if you like to be "pampered" with excellent service and a memorable event, then try it.....you won't be disappointed. Located on Canal Street in the heart of the city and on the fringe of the French Quarter, most venues are within walking distance. The nearby street car stop is convenient for transportation throughout the city. The main line will take you back in time as you roll uptown along St. Charles Ave.
A walk through the French Quarter will get the juices flowing as you encounter some of the best
restaurants and jazz musicians this country has to offer.

Room Tip: The higher level rooms offer less street noise, however all levels a good.

I recently stayed at the Ritz Carlton for the first time on a business trip for 5 days. While the hotel was nice and the customer service was great, for some reason I was expecting MORE... I guess the "brand" really does sell. Yes, I have stayed at 4-4.5 star properties before, however I was expecting more. I definitely look forward to having the "Ritz" experience at another location.
