I am a hotel snob who normally prefers to stay at the Ritz Carlton because of its exceptional customer service. However, I was disappointed during my stay at this location. My husband and I are used to the staff speaking and going out of their way to make you feel like they enjoy having you as a customer. Frequently, we encountered staff who didn't speak and barely spoke if we spoke to them. Usually, the staff remembers faces and address you by name. We didn't feel the same Ritz Carlton warmness as we have encountered at other locations. The hotel is beautiful and the Davenport Lounge named after the great Jeremy Davenport is excellent. We were quite pleased to have met Jillian in the lounge as she provided outstanding service and even recommended several great places to visit. Her Magazine Street and Drago's recommendations were outstanding! The location of this hotel is perfect if you want to be near Bourbon Street without being right in the middle of the action. The courtyard is a wonderful location to end your day. I may need to try The Roosevelt when I return to NOLA.

Room Tip: Do not stay in Room 478, a huge fire escape stairway is your scenery.

I was at Ritz Carlton on a business trip to New Orleans and stayed there for two nights.
It is located on the canal street and very close to the french quarter.

The Bourbon street is just 5 mins walking from the hotel. Bourbon street is THE Place to experience New Orleans night life.

The rooms are nice and comfortable. The breakfast was good. It has a classy feel to it.

Will be visiting New Orleans again in Oct 2012 and will stay at the Ritz Carlton!

We booked the Ritz for a two day trip to New Orleans. Location was perfect, as was service. Ricky checked us in, gave us some tips on local must do's, and even hand delivered French
bread with butter for my 11-year old daughter who had mentioned to him that she was looking forward to having some in the French Quarter! Our room was beautifully decorated and the extra towels I requested were waiting for us upon entry. The concierge arranged for our pick up to Mardis Gras World and provided us with an extra umbrella just in case. Exellent service from everyone, especially Ricky, Andres (who brought our bags up), and Jessie (who brought our bags down AND called to have our car prepped at check out). in all, a wonderful stay that we will definitely repeat! The
beautiful decor is also a must see!

Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for conference and couple time. Outstanding valet and doorman service upon arrival. Check-in was swift and renovated executive suite was delightful. Selection of funishings and material were elegant. Spacious living area separated by french panel doors to the bedroom.View along Canal Street was best during the night with the illumination of the streets and other buildings. Bathroom included a bathtub - 2 sinks and a separate shower. Only bathroom complaint was the limited bathtub size. Closet was smaller than usual, but accommondating for two. Loved the turndown service at night and water/ ice service. Ordered champange and king cake prior to arrival, but was not placed in room. Immediately, upon calling the front desk on our order, the champange and king cake arrived. Loved shopping and walking back to hotel and seeing the doorman on Canal Street waiting for me to open door and help me with the elevator.Even offered to assist me with my bags to room. How wonderful!!! Loved walking through lobby watching children having tea time. Couple Spa masage and facility was fantastic however, couple bath tub in spa was not as expected. It was a portable hottub instead of a spa mini pool. Beautiful old world luxury hotel with service at it finest. Will certainly stay again.

Room Tip: Request higher floor along Canal Street. Access to room requires you to arrive on one elevator to the lobby then take another elevator across lobby to room.
