Right in the middle of everything. Bourbon Street, French Quarter, shopping and the trolley to the Garden District.
The staff was so helpful with suggestions as well as making sure your stay was enjoyable.

This was the best time we have ever had. Out Suite was immaculant, well and beautifully appointed. The bathroom was a religious experience. Service was unparralled. Our housekeeper went the extra mile by even placing our dirty laundry into a bag and storing it in a closet! Room ser4vice was fast and delicious! i highly recommend the BBQ burger and the shrimp cocktail. Delivered quickly and with style! Of note, this hotel smells absolutely incredible! They have a signature fragrance and the candles are eveywhere. Fresh flowers also abound and are so beautiful! Can't beat the location, on Canal a block from Bourbon. Close enough to be conveinent, but away enough to be serene. Please go and enjoy all the amenities...Spa, gym, lounge, public areas...are all top-notch. Can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: Our friends had a king room and it was beautiful. For a little panache, get a Junior Suite on the 15th floor! Double balconie and french doors, Seperate seating area with doors, and a bathroom to die for!

Attending a conference so we were able to get an affordable group rate. Never stayed at a Ritz before and I love it. The hotel staff are wonderful the location is close to the center of action but not close enough to bother you.

Overall I am very pleased with our trip to the Ritz Carlton New Orleans in August 2011. The hotel is right on Canal Street and in a great location "within" the French Quarter but also very close to the Central Business District.

I was about 7.5 months pregnant, so although we booked a room with double beds we asked once we got there if they could put us in a room with a king or even queen bed, which they immediately said was not possible - I would guess it was because we were staying for 5 nights and they didn't want to give up a premium room. They said they were totally booked, but we rarely saw a single person coming out of a hotel room or out of the elevator... so I'm guessing they were not booked. A double bed is tight for two people.

The rooms and hotel lobby were gorgeously appointed, and we also really liked the courtyard, though the chairs were very hard to move and were not very comfortable in the courtyard. It also seemed like the place guests went to smoke, there was rarely anyone there who wasn't smoking.

The hotel was able to get us into our room early, as we had arrived at around 11 AM and just had to grab some lunch before our room was ready. They asked us if we wanted to switch rooms halfway through our trip, which was awkward--we declined--because they were remodeling in our wing and said it might be noisy. We didn't notice any noise, but we did notice our wing was fairly empty.

We did make one complaint about housekeeping, and it was immediately resolved and the housekeeping staff brought a plate of cookies and called to make sure we were satisfied, which was nice. Water was always well stocked in our room and the room itself was well cleaned always. The bathrooms are really gorgeous and comfortable, and there is a separate enclosure for the toilet, which is an amenity I loved.

The website says there is no pool, but there is a pool! It is a small pool and it's not for swimming laps or anything, but there is a switch to turn on a resistance wave if you are interested in exercising. However, it would have been nice to know that you can use the pool without the resistance switch turned on if you're just looking to cool off, and there is also a hot tub. Adjoining the pool is a terrific exercise room too!

I hadn't stayed at a Ritz Carlton before, and I would say my expectations were partially met. It was a beautiful place, but the service could use a little bit of improvement. That being said, they responded well to the minor complaint we had and I would go back. If there was any lack of excellence it would be in service--they responded great once there was a problem, but the minor problems shouldn't have really existed in the first place... if you're the Ritz Carlton.

Once again we gave the Ritz Carlton a chance BUT it proved that it will never be as impressive at the other RC's we have stayed in. Our stay was one night but we had three different rooms. The third room was given to us at 3 am because we had not air conditioning. It could be a wonderful hotel, it needs to be run like a Ritz Carlton. Does not ccompare to others!
