“Convenient location--beautiful room!”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

We had an excellent trip to New Orleans--and the Jazz Quarters was a definite highlight. The room was beautifully appointed--no cutesy bed and breakfast here--nice antiques, tastefully chosen paint colors, lots of privacy (in the Fountain Room--a suite really--with sitting room and bedroom)--and nice outdoor spaces. The breakfasts were delicious--I've never had such good Crepes Suzette (and we've made the breakfast couscous at home in order to extend the New Orleans experience!). Terrific local coffee. Great advice about things to see and do in New Orleans. Also--our flight to New Orleans was significantly delayed and Jazz Quarters actually called to make sure that we were OK! The location was perfect for exploring the French Quarter. It's easy to see why Jazz Quarters is a Trip Advisor favorite!

Room Tip: The Fountain Room has great privacy--perfect for a couple--but it also has a day bed in the sitting...

This is an unassuming and cozy place! We were warmly welcomed and our room was as expected, clean and charming. Just steps away from the Quarter with hints of where to go for an authentic New Orleans experience. Breakfast was so delicious my husband is still talking about it.

We returned from New Orleans two weeks ago and my husband and I are already trying to figure out how to go back to the Jazz Quarters again. From the grounds, to the breakfasts, to the neighborhood recommendations I can not sing the praises of this place enough. If you are looking for space, a place to really feel the history of New Orleans and visit a charming inn that is steps from the French Quarter, this is your place. Don't delay, this place is wonderful!

Room Tip: They can also arrange for babysitting if you are bringing your children. My son loved the fountain i...

Just returned from a 3-night stay at JQ. What a gem! If your accomodation preference is for authentic places a bit off the beaten path, this is your place. Just steps away from the heart of the French Quarter. So much more character and charm than a chain hotel. The morning breakfast is a nice touch, and it's always fun chatting with fellow travelers. The hosts have a wealth of information on restaurants, activities, tours, etc. HIGHLY recommend a tour with Naif (a retired teacher with more knowledge about NO than you can believe), he does all kinds of tours, from cemetery, food, drink, history, whatever you want. Such a fun day. We stayed in the Marsalis room; only quibble is the "hand shower." I think all other rooms at JQ have a standard American shower. We got by, but for more than a couple of nights, I might choose another room. In fiarness, this was pointed out clearly in the room description, but we didn't really realize the inconvenience of it until we got there. But I'm sure others might not mind.

Thanks so much for your awesome review! It is especially gratifying to get such positive feedback from one as well traveled and knowledgeable as you. You might want to know that we are changing the bathroom in the Marsalis cottage to make it more "user friendly", We hope you can return to us to see the result.

Best to you in your future travels.

The service was extraordinary: Brenna and Charlie were the perfect hosts. From the moment we made the reservations and through our stay they arranged everything for us---sightseeing, restaurant reservations, and unexpected activities. The breakfasts offered unique and well prepared menus. We have never been to a bed and breakfast and asked friends about what to expect. They all said that they had never received this kind of service and attention and that we were very fortunate to have found a gem like this. Thanks for a wonderful experience and for spoiling us for any bed and breakfast in the future.

Room Tip: The Fountain was secluded and away from noise of the entrance and street. Perfect location!

My husband and I just returned from a fantastic stay at the Jazz Quarters. I surprised him with a long weekend getaway for his 40th birthday. It was perfect! Brynna was super super helpful upon our arrival by giving us maps with culinary points of interest and general information.

The location is perfect--we walked everywhere and felt perfectly safe. Yes it's across the street from a park but we did not encounter anyone or thing unsavory. And we were told that New Orleans is just dark at night--low street lights. We felt completely safe exploring the city by foot day or night--and walking back to the B&B at night.

We stayed in Mayfield. Fabulous. The room was comfortable and quiet. My husband was super impressed upon walking in and was sure it cost much more than it actually did. You really get a lot for your money. The breakfasts were high class and delicious!! A filling way to get your day started. We both gobbled up everything on our plates each morning.

A little note on our adventures in NOLA--we really enjoyed Frenchman Street ( a recommendation by Brynna). Great local music and a fun art market with local artists--I bought a necklace. It's a refreshing change from the tackiness and cover bands of Bourbon Street. I am sure if we had more times we would have been able to find other pockets of local charm.

I would definitely stay here again for any reason I was in New Orleans. It would be a fun place to stay for a girls weekend and it's definitely a great place to go for a couples stay.

In conclusion, WE LOVED IT. It's as one of the best places we've stayed as as couple in the US and we voted it best B&B breakfast we've had thus far. And fantastic staff. So book your next stay in New Orleans here!

Really recommended. Location is great, value is fantastic, and the staff are very nice. Walking distance to so many great things, yet just slightly away from all the crowds. I imagine it would be lovely for a large group too.

Room Tip: We stayed in the White Room (for a couple).
