We had a great remodeled modernized room in this historic property (we were in the main building, front of courtyard.) Staff is very accommodating.
Service of coffee and tea and whole fruit is available throughout the day in the office, but they do not serve continental breakfast here as they used to do.
I would definitely recommend this guesthouse hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was on the street (front) side, but we had no problems with street noise, as Ursulines is a...

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and other's on TripAdvisor. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and would recommend the Inn on Ursulines to other's.

As you mentioned your great guestroom, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed all of our newly renovated touches. We went to great lengths to upgrade the rooms to provide all of the modern amenities one would find in a larger chain hotel, while still being able to maintain the authenticity and charm of our historic property.

We do offer tea, coffee and fresh fruit 24 hours a day in our lobby, but removed the service of lite breakfast last year. We apologize for the inconvenience, however New Orleans has so many great options for dining, both casual and formal, that our guests have been very pleased with their breakfast choices just steps away.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us and other's on TripAdvisor and we hope to see you back at any of our French Quarter Guest Houses properties upon your next return to the Crescent City!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Ursulines a few months ago and had a very pleasant experience. Right in the heart of the quarter but just far enough off the main drag to be nice and quiet. Upon arrival we were greeted by Carrie Sue: a front desk agent who quickly helped us with our luggage, gave a friendly handshake to our cab driver, welcomed us in and offered us a nice cup of hot coffee. We felt at home instantly, as if staying in her own home. She gave us some tips on where to eat, what the locals do for fun along with the tourist stuff and a rundown of the safe/non safe areas of the city (all suggestions were spot on with what we were looking for). We stayed in room 5 which was right in the adorable courtyard, next to the hot tub. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was newly renovated. We also met Jennifer at the front desk in the mornings when we filled our coffee cups in the lobby. Another wonderful employee! Nights were peaceful and the other guests were fun to chat with. We slept well. Overall - a delightful stay!

Only a few small issues:
The hot tub never got quite hot enough. Carrie Sue informed us this was an issue they were trying to fix, however my husband and I really were looking forward to soaking with a bottle of wine. The water was more lukewarm.
Housekeeping knocked on our door rather early a few times (8am), but the lady was very friendly and agreed to come back later.
Stark white walls everywhere with very little artwork! When traveling, we like to find the home-away-from-home guest houses - I was hoping for a more "homey" feeling to the room. It was comfortable, just a bit too much like a mainstream hotel and less like a French Quarter cottage.

Room Tip: I would suggest a room in the courtyard rather than street side. We enjoyed having the courtyard as...

Thank you for sharing your experience at the Inn on Ursulines with us and others on TripAdvisor. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.

As you mentioned our great front desk staff, specifically Jennifer and Carrie Sue, we are so pleased to hear they were able to make your stay at the Inn on Ursulines everything you had hoped it would be. We consider our staff to be local pros on all the must-see's in the city as well as great places to dine.

You also noted our great location, as we are located in the heart of the residential section of the French Quarter. Our prime location places our guests within walking distance of all the excitement on Bourbon Street, while still being able to have a quiet and relaxing space to return to.

As the Inn on Ursulines is newly renovated, we are in the process of selecting the perfect artwork and finishing touches for our guestrooms. We completely understand your comment regarding the white walls and on our way to fixing that! We hope you return to be able to see the final product, we know you won't be disappointed!

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us, we hope to see you again at any of our French Quarter Guest Houses properties!

My wife and I stayed at the Inn on Ursulines for five night recently. The staff was wonderful and were always willing to answer our questions, recommend places to eat, tour groups to use, etc. We could not have asked for better from any hotel or Inn!

The location was perfect for us, in the quieter end of the Quarter, a few blocks from the French Market and a Streetcar stop, which we used regularly. A few blocks to Frenchmen Street. Near coffee shops, bakeries, Verti Mart and all that the French Quarter has to offer only a few blocks walk away. I recommend not renting a car, you really don't need it and it would be more hassle than it would be worth!

We enjoyed the room overall. The bed (King size, room 32) was great! We enjoyed the open doors in the morning with the cool air coming in. For the most part, our stay was quiet, except for the first night, when a crowd was using the courtyard in the later evening, early morning hours.

Even though we had seen pictures of the property, there were no pictures of the bathrooms, nor the narrow steps up to the second floor. We were told about the stares, but they were still pretty tough with heavy luggage, and after a full day of walking about.

The bathroom contained only a shower, and a small one at that! We barely had room to turn around in there! But, all the marble and wood sink fixtures made the bathroom very nice!

The floor in the room had a definite slope, but not really an issue. The top drawer of the chest of drawers did not stay closed, due to the uneven floors I suppose.

Having the ceiling fan was nice, as we have one at home, so the air movement was nice.

I could not figure out the air conditioning/fan unit, but I also didn't ask for assistance with it either, as it wasn't particularly needed on our stay. I would recommend a small sign with usage instructions placed next to it though.

The towels and bathroom amenities were wonderful! So gad for this.

We would return in the Inn on Ursulines again, but probably would opt for a lower level room due to the difficulty of the steps for us.

My room here was right on the street, which allowed for some quality eavesdropping but the doors kept most of the noise out. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, accommodations were comfortable and clean, and having a spacious, quiet place to rest between outings really helped me enjoy the French Quarter. It's walking distance to several coffee shops and bakeries, to Bourbon Street, to many restaurants, and to Verti Marte, a 24-hour grocery store with a deli in the back and an ATM on site, so I was never far from anything I needed. The only thing I didn't like was that the parking was so far away, but given what a trial it is to find parking in the Quarter I was glad to have a safe place to keep my car for the 2 nights I was there.

We stayed for six days and were delighted with the Inn, our room, the staff and the location. Our room (King, upper level, courtyard) looked exactly as it appears on the website. We found it to be quiet as well, but I guess that could depend on who else is staying there at the time. The only small thing that would have made the room a little more comfortable would have been one or two chairs, but we were told that that is on the "to do" list. The new owners are making a concerted effort to make the Inn as comfortable and inviting as possible.

A friend did the research and booked 3 rooms for our stay. We arrived late in the day and were greeted by a wonderful staff member by the name of Kerri Sue. She checked us all in in record time and even gave us some great suggestions on where we could find dinner.

My room (#13) was very small but I was the only occupant so it was perfect. The room shared by 2 other friends (#12) was a bit bigger and the third room (#23) for the last couple was large with a HUGE bathroom!

The courtyard was super cute and filled with tables and chairs for hanging out. There is also a hot tub should you need to soothe aching legs and feet from walking the French Quarter.

The location of the Inn is awesome. Only a few blocks from the French Market and the water. Canal Street isn't too far and Bourbon Street is the next block. If you don't want to venture far from the French Quarter, this is the place to stay.

The only drawback is the noise from people in the courtyard at late hours. I wear ear plugs at night during hotel stays, so this didn't bother me. But my friends said they were kept awake for awhile by loud people.

All in all, if you like charm and old style buildings, this place is awesome. Kerri Sue was so helpful with food recommendations and such a pleasure to deal with. You can find me at the Inn on Ursulines on my next visit to New Orleans for sure!

My stay at the Inn on Ursulines was very pleasant. I was in town for training and to check out the happenings in New Orleans. The staff was extremely nice. The l women at the front desk that I spoke with was a big help to me. Everyone was pleasant. The overall experience was good. The rooms were nice and kept clean throughout the week I spent there. The place had a lot of character and was just far enough off Bourbon St to offer a good night's sleep, but close enough to experience all the city had to offer. As long as your ok with a little old building style charm, this place is for you. I would return without hesistation!

Room Tip: I stayed in room 32. It's a nice room on the second floor. I recommend it.
