“perfect B&B!”

Karen was such a pleasure from the time I booked the room over the phone until she helped us with a cab on our way back to the airport. The Dauphine house was so charming and clean and her hospitality was amazing. The location is perfect and withtin gwalking distance to everything. Karen even took time out to describe the area and map out anything we inquired about. Our stay there made our trip even more amazing!

The house is very cute, with beautifull french balconies and little garden in the back. Karen is the most amazing host. Extremely friendly and told us the best local places to go. The New Orleans Experience is not complete without staying at Dauphine House

My mother and I stayed at the Dauphine House April 14-19 while we were in town to work on Habitat for Humanity houses. Karen took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. She had plenty of fun suggestions for dinner and other outings around the city. She also invited us on a ghost tour that she led around the French Quarter, which was fun. The room was clean and nice and the breakfast basket had a good variety of food. The bathroom was a little small, but it worked fine for the two of us. Located in a great neighborhood - only one block from the Quarter. The house is great because it has been restored, but the walls are a little thin because of that. It didn't bother us at all, but you might want to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Don't let this deter you from staying at the Dauphine House, we loved it.

I have been staying at Dauphine House for almost a decade now, and unless forced to, I would not stay ANYWHERE else in New Orleans. Located one block off Esplanade, it is close enough to the French Quarter for easy access, but far enough away from the craziness for a good night's sleep. Within walking distance of many good restaurants (La Peniche, Port o Call, and Mona Lisa's to name three) as well as many excellent music clubs. It's a short walk to the Riverfront Streetcar, as well. The hostess has, over the years, become a friend rather than just some stranger we pay to stay in her house. I absolutely cannot recommend Dauphine House highly enough!!

Short walk to bourbon st and all the excitement, but quiet enough for pleasant sleep. Karen, our hostess was wonderful and full of information! The breakfast fueled us up for the day. The two downstairs bedrooms are perfect for a close-knit group of four.
Thanks, Karen (from the nashville girls!)

The title says it all; I agree with all the other reviewers who can't say enough about Karen's hospitality and friendliness, and the location, cleanliness and ambience of the place. Just two blocks from Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter, wonderful charm and character, and everything you could need in the room - a Continental breakfast with coffee maker, tv, fluffy towels, a/c or heat, and a wonderfully comfy bed! The smallness of the place (just 3 rooms) and its being a private residence means that you may not like it as much if you are used to (and prefer) chain hotels, big rooms, panoramic views and the like. However, If you value charm, value, personal greetings and location, you can't do better than stay here. Very highly recommended!

I spent the weekend after Mardi Gras at the Dauphine house. Karen the owner greets you with warmth, care, and open arms. The rooms are very nice, Southern charm, and Karen has pretty much everything you need in there. It's a great price and a great place to stay if you would like a peaceful and enjoyable trip. It's in a wonderful location..2 blocks from Bourben. HIGHLY recommend.
