The Inn was very nice, and I would recommend it on that alone. But, the really special part of our stay was the personal helpfulness and caring of the innkeepers, Guy and Nancy.

We enjoyed a brief stay at Sully Mansion while visiting family in New Orleans for a wedding. It was close to Uptown and to the church in the Irish Channel which was a huge plus. We are used to staying in older homes in NO and enjoyed the atmosphere.

I would love to give this an Excellent rating, however - when we arrived to check-in, with an emailed reservation confirmation for the Esplanade Room, we discovered it had been given to another party. We had to settle for the Carrollton Room, which was considerably smaller, as it was the only room left in the inn. The innkeepers were away for the weekend and I appreciated Frank's apologies, particularly because it wasn't his fault. His breakfast on Sunday morning was wonderful! He is a delightful host and I enjoyed visiting with him.

I would stay at Sully Mansion again, but would make a personal call to verify reservations.

Our weekend in new Orleans was picture perfect due to our very comfortable stay at the Sully Mansion. The mansion truly has kept its period charm yet offers the modern conveniences we expected. The accommodations were beautiful and the hospitality was top notch. Breakfasts were our favorite meal of the day! Very reasonably priced as well.

We stayed here in April '08 on a house-hunting trip to New Orleans. We chose this property because the location was ideal for accessing all parts of New Orleans (and very safe -- we parked our car on the street with no problems) and because the rates were very reasonable for the city (breakfast included, free street parking, free wireless, coffee on the landing in the morning, and the most reasonably priced honor bar we've ever encountered). The house was beautiful, the neighborhood was lovely, our room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were phenomenal, and our hosts were extremely helpful -- spent lots of time talking with us about the neighborhoods, restaurants, the best way to get to Point A from Point B, the festivals, etc., and gave us a very, very helpful folder with maps and recommendations. They were hosting a wedding party the final day we were there, and I was impressed how much help Guy and Nancy were providing to the bride's family. We will be recommending Sully Mansion to visiting family and friends after we relocate to New Orleans this summer.

This is a wonderful B+B in the Garden district about half way between Audubon Park and the French Quarter, one block off of St. Charles St. The streetcar stop is 2 blocks away and conveniently can get you to the French Quarter and back for $2.50 roundtrip! Nancy and Guy were wonderful hosts and have done an amazing job with the place. Their dog Gracie (spelling?) was a wonderful delight as we missed our 2 dogs at home very much. The location is perfect for the parade route, attending meetings or conferences in the city, tourist travel, etc. Breakfast was lovely both mornings we were there and we had fun chatting and trading stories with the hosts. We stayed in the Prytania room, which was very nice. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic and charming B+B in the garden district area of uptown.

Hospitality at its best in a charming 19th century mansion turned B&B. Great location in the Garden District very near the St. Charles streetcar means no car rental. Nancy loves to make delicious and healthy breakfasts and we enjoyed it on the lovely wraparound front porch, stopping every once in a while to scratch the head of Gracie, one wonderful dog. We couldn't resist being in the same comfortable outdoor sofa with a glass of wine later in the day, surounded by magnificent 300-year old oak trees. We felt like family by the end of the weekend and gave Guy a farewell hug. Their knowledge of the city's treasures is extensive and they are extremely helpful in procuring tickets, taxis and travel info. Highly recommended!

Proprietors Guy and Nancy Fournier are the perfect hosts, and their historic Garden District mansion is ideally situated for whatever brings you to New Orleans. It's great for the usual tourist stuff, located in the Garden District and right off the streetcar line and parade route, and easy to get to the French Quarter to enjoy its good aspects, without having to endure the bad aspects of staying in the Quarter - noisy, overpriced and TOO TOURISTY!

It would also be an excellent location if you are doing business downtown, attending a graduation at one of the uptown universities or visiting for Mardi Gras or a festival.

As a pre-Katrina local who has reluctantly become a post-Katrina visitor (albeit frequent), I will tell you you cannot do better than this if you are looking for something other than an impersonal, cookie-cutter hotel room.

The innkeepers offer lovely breakfasts, as much or as little information on sights, restaurants, attractions and local culture as you want, and nice touches like a common mini-refrigerator for your store-bought drinks and the restaurant leftovers you are sure to bring back at some point in your stay, and an honor-system mini-bar with bottled water, beer and wine for late-night thirst-quenching.
