“Great family spot for New Orleans!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

This is a great location for a family in New Orleans! This was my 2nd use of my timeshare, the first was at LaBelle Masion for 2 days prior to going to Avenue Plaza. Great city views from the roof top.

The street car/ trolley is the best way to get around. We thought that we didn't even need a car once we got there. The hotel has several great activities, pool, ghost house for touring. There is a central laundry facility or a time that you can exchange towels. The location was great to take street car/trolley to Audubon Park/Zoo.

The hotel was excellent. We had 2 studios which were a good size for 2-3 people. 2burner stove, microwave, refrigerator. But didn't really use because the food was so good and affordable in New Orleans.

Room Tip: Get room away from elevators No really great views from hotel

Great location, nice rooms, but NO CLOSETS in the one bedroom suites??? friendly people, a lot of patience with the "visitors". Just a little weird that there were no closets, my husband ended up keeping the cart for luggage in our room on order to hang up our clothes.

Room Tip: if you pack light, perfect for you, and corner suites are quieter.

We visited New Orleans first time during Labor day weekend. We were fortunate to have great weather. We reached hotel quite late at night. Check in was completed in minutes and staff was very efficient to provide us details. Trolley to French Qtr is right in front of the hotel which runs 24/7 making it perfect place to commute in any direction. Wouldn't advice to get a rental car as public transport is pretty good and also would save on parking. We had 1 bedroom suite which was very comfortable with kitchen supplies and all appliances in working condition.

Room Tip: Room facing st. Charles avenue on floors above 5th have good views.

We recently toured New Orleans. The hotel was a great location. The staff was extremely. helpful. The concierge desk booked all our tours for us and helped with maps of the area. The trolley system across the street was so easily accessible and so easy to learn. Buy the multiple
day passes and go everywhere. The bell man was very outgoing and helpful all the time. No added charges was so welcoming. The washer and dryers were FREE. The rooms were a nice size, the kitchen nice and usable. Small bathroom but had a large shower. The view on top, the garden room were so nice and peaceful. Will go back.

Room Tip: Higher has a better city view.

Lovely hotel, very nicely appointed rooms (have a small kitchen).
Well situated for quiet strolls around the beautiful garden district.
10 minute ride on the street car to the french quarter.

My only criticism was the check-in desk. Almost no eye contact, and minimal communication. If you need to ask me questions, please use whole sentences rather than 2-3 word phrases.

Suite was spacious enough (except for the bathroom on the small side), very clean, comfortable bed and sofa bed. Kitchen was well-stocked with silverware, dishes, full-size fridge, toaster, etc. But it's New Orleans so who wants to cook when there are so many others who do it so much better? Valet parking was efficient and friendly. Especially liked the courtyard and pool/hot tub area.

Had the same problem as other reviewers with the long wait for hot water that makes you think there is none.

Beautiful view with a nice breeze at night from the sundeck on the roof.

Con- When u turn on shower you dont have hot water. Called front desk and they told me you have to let the water run for ten or fifteen minutes and it will get hot. Said the Pipes are old. But Sure enough it did work. Once we knew this it wasnt a big deal to do it...But my issue is that most Hotels are trying to conserve Energy etc.. and they are telling me to waste water for ten minutes before I even get in the shower?
Pros-Loved the rooms. Very Nice..New decor. Spacious. Had a one bedroom. Nice kitchen with granite countertops and everything you need. Seperate bedroom.
Loved the location in Garden District away from the craziness of Bourbon street. You can catch the Trolley right in front of the hotel. Only $3 for Day pass. Nice restaurants close by to walk to. Corner grocery store a block away. Walked there for a bottle of wine.
Would definitely stay here again!
